I think it's a good article it hurts me to say it I actually agree with this I don't think it's fair to bash the thread maker for posting it.Pretty much everything it says is true yet for some reason pakistanis tend to put arabs on a pedestal and can't see the saudis are having negative impact in pakistan.
.
(If the government is not like MMA. The bigger sponsor of terrorism).
Thanks
Thank you muse.
As you pointed out rightly Islam or muslim doesn't automatically mean arab, its much superior than arab culture, yet we're so impressed with the latter that we tend to adapt their customs, names, dresses and habbits.
Pakistani society compared to many other muslim, mainly arab societies is much more evolved and open to modern age (some call it western idiology), perfactly balanced between the teachings of Islam and national cultural heritage.
So why the decline?
Isn't this a classical case of identity crisis? We have a very rich culture and history, the region used to be the credle of modern society once.
Why do we feel the urge to change it with arab culture??
Dear Neo,
When (means) faith Takes over (goal) of Humanity these problems occur in every society . Faith has to serve humanity and when faith and ethics collide its ethics which shall triumph .. for this Culture is an important tool ..
However the concept of Ummah tries to overload the Arab culture on the local people ..

What happened to you mate? No one is bringing anyones parents into anything here.
No culture is superior or inferior. There are many good points to learn from every culture. We, as Pakistanis, have a rich cultural heritage. So as Arabs, they also have rich cultural heritage.
It is a fact that every Muslim is not Arab if we go by the geographical defination but having said that, it doesn't mean that arabs are inferiors than us or we are inferiors than arab.
When keeping names of our children, what we don't realize is that we are not keeping ARABIC names, we are keeping MUSLIM names. Arab is no authority on any muslim, the only authority is the HOLY QURAN and SUNNAH of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
What about many prominent convert Muslims who keep part of their christian name with the new Muslim name? Would we call them inferiors? No, never.
Same goes with the dress. If a women's body is covered without wearing burqa with no show of body features, we can't call that dress un-islamic. This dress can be non-arab but can be fully islamic dress.
Why are you giving me this lecture? Am I the one that needs a briefing about the differences between a culture and a religion? I thought I hinted at that correction a few posts ago. Over and out.
