Finish 3rd = face Australia
Finish 4th = face New Zealand

For once I would actually prefer Pak play against Australia rather than NZ.especially if the game is to be played in a NZ pitch. The Aussie batsmen failed in Auckland against the NZ bowlers and I would fancy the chances our bowlers have against the Aussie batsmen on such a pitch.

Aussies have a very good pace attack, the other day when I was watching Starc bowling to SL batsmen, I was wondering if our batsmen could survive his 5 overs in a row........................

Certainly not. Im simply stating that we probably have a bigger chance of winning over Aus than we have of NZ on such a pitch. It might not be likely that we will win over AUS but then again the same thing was said about SA game. SA surely have one of the best bowling and batting line ups in the world spearheaded by Steyn and de villeirs respectively but we still won the game. I would fancy our chances more against Aus hence than NZ.

Not saying we would be likely to win against Aussies either but I would favour our chances more against them then NZ who havent lost a single game in this tournament.

Good thing is that both Pakistan and WI will be playing on the same day. WI will play in morning time and game will be close to ending by the time Pakistan start playing the game. So It will hard for WI to know the true equation of R/R to qualify for QF.

What if Pakistan loses to Ireland and West Indies win against UAE and South Africa loses to UAE? All 3 teams Pakistan, WI and SA will have 6 points each and only 2 will qualify for the QF......

net runrate. south africa will make it anyway. west india will probably make it if they do a big win otherwise Pakistan

Yeah I agree, OZ batting is fragile and at times prone to collapse.

But we must win the toss and bat first. If OZ win toss and bat first its game over.

Its better we face NZ in QF, just look at the match between Aus and NZ, had it not been for Brendon McCullum, the Aussies had bulldozed NZ batting line up just defending a very low score on the board.

Remember 1999 WC final, even if we bat first our team won't be able to come out of the psychological effect Aussies have on it. I would say against NZ we have a chance but against Aussies forget it.

Ireland is very good team now.Pakistan should play well and aggressive to win.

To be frank, NZ will be an easier opponent for Pakistan in Q/F compared to Aussies. If one can get past Mccullum, the mainstay for for NZ batting, they can rip through other NZ batsman bcz they have been largely untested so far. Whereas in Aus case, their middle and lower order batsman are in decent form with the like of Maxwell, Watson & Faulker having had a good knock under their belt. Even for India, NZ in S/F or Final will be an easier opponent than Australia who have the best batting lineup even ahead of India & Saf in this WC.

They really want 2 points today and move from 4 to 3 and prevent playing india in QF.
