I think modern game has evolved , most people now openly say that if you don't get 300 then there is something wrong and the second aspect of the game is fielding , clean agressive - athletic fielding.
While I understand , we lost and rightfully so , but I think we really have to start focsusing on power hitters in the ODI and T-20 formats , with inclusion of may be 2 Test Clibre players (4th / 5th spot) to carry the innings for 10 overs in middle.
Strictly speaking on terms of potential for hitting boundries based on performances in PSL few names became quite common
1- Sharjeel (Rightfully in Pakistani Team)
2- Kalid Latif (Showed he had the muscle and power to get to boundry lines)
3- Khurram Manzoor
4- Ahmed Shazad (I think he was one of top performers in PSL)
In term of fielding and impressing with spin , Mohammad Asghar was a name that showed up in radar, as the player showed great determination on the field while stopping runs and boundries and was quite dependable catcher. And in few games took timely wickets.
So now when we fast foward the 1 year, going into Australian Tour
We find that alot of the players who were stand out performers in PSL were dropped and folks who had difficult time
Shoaib Malik
Azhar
Hafeez
Etc all some how managed to get into the squad
Now don't get me wrong these players can play and have done quite well but they are not firing on all cylinders, we know Azar can perform but he has been over exposed in the tour to Australians
Same goes with Amir , the player just needs time to build his small frame so he can add an extra , zest in his bowling
Great talent but he needs a mentor a Senior bowler that can carry the load with him and really we need 5 bowling "Team" support Amir

Really if we were to put a team together based on "PSL performance" and ability to get to Boundries in ODI to match Australians in fire power

- Yasir Shah / Saeed Ajmal / Asgar (Spin Specialist)
- Shoaib Malik (Can bat 3) / Wahab Riaz (All Rounder)
instead of opener if we put him in 4 or 5 he butcher any bowling Well played Well Played 74 in 47 balls.
