Despite India’s objections to China-assisted developmental projects in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir), Pakistan said on Thursday that it will go ahead with its plans there, including the multi-billion dollar Sino-Pak economic corridor.

“Pakistan will go ahead with all projects because we have not objected any development project in Kashmir which benefits the residents of Kashmir,” Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said at a media briefing.

Aslam also criticised India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for asking China to stop infrastructure building projects, including the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, in Azad Kashmir.

Swaraj who was answering a query in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, on projects between China and Pakistan, had said: “The Government has seen reports with regard to China and Pakistan being involved in infrastructure building activities in Azad Kashmir, including construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.”

Swaraj added that the Government of India has conveyed its concerns to China about their activities in Azad Kashmir.

India flagged up its concerns regarding Chinese activities in Azad Kashmir during China’s Premier Li Keqiang's visit to New Delhi in May this year.

China is involved in Neelum Jhelum hydropower project in Azad Kashmir.

Earlier, it also helped in Mangla Dam project on the river Jhelum.

Asked about UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon's readiness to engage with India and Pakistan in resolving the Kashmir issue if requested by both countries, Aslam said Pakistan welcomed the statement.

“The unresolved issue of Kashmir is the root cause of tension with India.

“The final settlement of this issue must be through plebiscite and in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir.”

The two men in this case are China and Pak.

.
Let them do it..They sure are gonna regret this..

. . .
Double standards by Pak. India never claimed Azad Kashmir to be disputed, it always considers Kashmir to be integral part of India. It is Pak that harps that Kashmir is disputed, so why is Pak not keeping disputed nature of Kashmir intact?

It shows Pak has no locus stand on Kashmir

.
In reality India is more favorable of converting the LOC into IB and solve this issue. India raising concerns about development in Azad Kashmir is because Pakistan is not letting this issue die down.

Supersonic middle finger was shown to your MPs yesterday in our parliament. Not 1 or 2 MPs... 12 of them So, you can take it as 12 supersonic middle fingers

This is actually good for India. China is pushing India too far. It's failing to realize that the leadership unlike previous one will not backoff. The Indian Govt awarded a project to japan in Arunachal pradesh. Now that seriously pissed off china. For the idiots who think japan is denying it's presence, ofcourse they will. Just like how the chinese are denying their presence in kashmir. But in the game between heavy weights, the weakest one will suffer the most. Now, who is the weakest one here?

So not meeting MPs somehow makes you feel big especially when you have invited them yourselves :disagree:
Treating your guests with the utmost respect is a common trait in South Asia
not sure about India anymore !

If you cant maintain punctuality, it's not our problem.I dont find the reason for dozen MPs to rush to India by a mere invite from an opposition Indian MP. They should have contacted thru proper channels to be treated as guests. Y so desperate? :D

I agree lets hope they have learned there lesson when it comes to there fondness for India
Maybe next time an Indian MP visits Pakistan..should be dished out the same treatment but i doubt that

Sushma's statement is in a direction to establish that Azad Kashmir is a disputed territory. Nobody expect here that Pakistan and china shall stop developing infrastructure on appeal of shusma. Sushma's statement have affected as intended. Good job.
