I have doubts about the US leaving anytime soon. They'll keep dangling this carrot of leaving soon and stay there for as long as possible, if not indefinitely.

Why would NATO withdraw from a strategic outpost like Afghanistan when they can keep an eye on Russia, China, Pakistan and India, the four nuclear powers all at once?

These are not medieval times, of fluid borders, when any adventurer could capture any land, provided he had adequate ambition, courage and resources.

Afghan people will, themselves, have to find a political solution and I am hopeful that they will; though it will take some time. Sovereignty of that country shall have to be maintained, under all circumstances.

In these times, international borders should not be played with, at any cost. It is an extremely dangerous proposition.

There is no need of having that strip. After CPEC, we can access CAS through China, as well. Real thing, which should be our target is a stable regime, in Afghanistan, which is not anti-Pakistan; though it may have good relations with India.
