Pakistan Urges US to Refrain From Attacking Iran

That will happen eventually, as a new superpower replaces USA. Eventually, it is inevitable.

So Pakistanis went for the dry fruit in Afghanistan? I will not even mention countries to the East. What are Pak troops doing in Saudi Arabia? Only Umrah and Haj?

Good, may the odds be ever, against the states, the butcher of millions from it's own native population to Vietnam.

Almost ALL countries butcher and kill in the pursuit of their national interests. Please keep that in mind always.

And being a superpower only comes with hard work. Let others do the same and replace USA whenever they want.

Aww, cute. So your saying what the Greek said when then retreated from Turkish towns "all conquers butcher civilians and burn cities down, and we are no different" that's cute sweetheart but avoid the use of fallasies when trying to make an argument.

There are no "fallasies" in what I have said above. :D

And why forget what the Turks did to the Armenians?

America has been at war 222 times out of 240 years of its existence. The Turks, Chinese, Russians, Pakistani's and Indian's can never be compared to this disgusting country that causes havoc wherever it goes.

Pakistan went into Afghanistan after Soviet jets bombed refugee camps in Pakistan.

In Saudi Arabia Pakistani troops are not Invaders but posted there to protect the holy cities. Pakistani have killed none is Saudi Arabia.

What are you smoking?

I doubt this. US will remain superpower for indefinite period but the world is now bipolar.

Human history tells us that decline of any great power is inevitable, if not from the outside, then from the inside. But you are correct that USA will remain for a long time to come, as far as we can tell for now.

Pakistan intervened in Kashmir due to obvious reasons - partition related.

Pakistan have also contributed to UN-backed missions overseas but for peaceful designs. It is true that Pakistan is not into projecting power overseas.

Pakistan became a part of CIA-led Operation Cyclone in Afghanistan due to concerns of survival at the time.

I am not free to mention Kashmir and what happens there. But let me just say that those who are able to project power do it. Those who wish they could, work hard to create the ability to do it. And those who cannot, can only try to express moral outrage, which simply does not work in international geopolitics.

Pakistan became a part of CIA-led Operation Cyclone in Afghanistan due to concerns of survival at the time.

Pakistan of course serves its own national interests.

So if Iran is attacked, then the question for Pakistan would be how to respond to this dangerous situation? My suggestion is as follows:

1- Along the Iranian border, and deep inside Iranian Baluchistan, create a BUFFER zone by inserting militias. Very similar to what Russia has done on the Ukraine border.
2- Ensure US supply routes to A-stan via Pakistan become restricted.
3- Expedite Taliban attacks on the US forces in A-stan.
4- If the regime in Tehran is toppled, create Taliban type groups in Iran and armed them to fight US.

It won't be pretty but it will create buffer zones between Pakistan and Iran.

Pakistan Urges US to Refrain From Attacking Iran

The situation in the region escalated last week after acting US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan ordered the deployment of the USS Arlington, a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, and additional MIM-104 Patriot missile defence systems to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) region.

Pakistani authorities said on Sunday that they had notified the United States that Pakistan was against any attack on Iran, as such an act would be "destructive for the regional peace".

A senior official in the Pakistani Foreign Ministry told The Nation outlet that "the US claims Iran is intensifying tension".

At the same time, according to another official, Pakistan has contacted Iran as well, urging it to restraint to ensure peace.

Tensions between Iran and the US reached a new level after Washington enlisted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation earlier this year, with Iran doing the same to the US Central Command.

Later on, US National Security Adviser John Bolton announced that the US was deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force near Iran in a move to send "a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on US interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force".

Responding to the claims, Tehran said that it posed no threat to the US, adding that Washington's allegations were based on "fake intelligence". According to Iran's Supreme National Security Council spokesman Keivan Khosravi, Bolton's statement was "a clumsy use of an out-of-date event for psychological warfare".

Why can't Pakistan stay neutral and quiet in this third party affair? We are in a silly habit of challenging/warning others for threatening Muslim countries at the cost of our own national interests. Musharraf threatened Israel to pay the price if latter attacked Iran. Zia ul Haq been playing similar (or actually more active role) in support of Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. We've been persuading US for not attacking Iran in past and actively resisting US pressure to at least allow them use Pak land to hit Iran (if not join hands with them). Pak covert and overt support to Iran during UN sanctions is no secret either. What Iran has returned to us for all that? Iran has returned our favors by setting up strategic alliance with India and allowing/helping Indians use Iranian land for waging a bloody terrorism war against Pakistan. Let their strategic partner, India, help Iranians now. While we must not be hostile to Iran, we shouldn't poke our nose in Iran-US conflict either. Hell with sectarian links in our higher echelon. If those links cannot desist Iranians from bleeding our nation-state, there is no need of inviting trouble for the sake of those dead links/relations. Stay neutral in Iran-US conflict while asking both parties to explore peaceful ways to resolve their differences.

It is very simple: Pakistan must do whatever serves its OWN national interests.

So what they are not anti-pakistan lol.

USA has no local support other than a Peng media house in kandahar.

Why would Taliban be under pressure they know money weapons and fuel will come from Iran. You have. Strange logic my friend.
1. My point is that Pakistan have no cards to play in Iran, and neutrality is best option for us. Fencing the border with Iran, is necessary.

2. Sure, but American troops have great power at their disposal and they have prevented potential breakthroughs of Taliban in Farah and Ghazni respectively. Taliban now understand that they cannot topple existing Afghan government by force. Therefore, talks ongoing.

3. Money and weapons come from a functioning government, and Iran's support to Taliban-led insurgency is open secret. However, if US bring about the collapse of the existing Iran's regime, then Taliban will loose access to flow of money and weapons from this source.

It looks like in your world pakistan is the center of universe. Everything happening in this universe has a pakistani connection. :laughcry:
