What's new

Pakistan & Turkey kick off 'TUSAP Raiders-14' joint air exercise in Konya.

ACM pod is internal with F7PG and JF17.

IT has been pitted againt our f16A, MLU and the block52. And indeed chinese platforms. Do you need more? We pitted our PG against F22...

You are not only ill informed but also silly.

The reasons why the JFTs can't yet be deployed in international exercises are following.

1: JFTs are not yet capable of networking with the E-3 Sentry AWACs since the tactical data link which can link to the LINK-16 hasn't yet been integrated.

2: Such exercises require a good loitering capability which requires in flight refuling, which isn't available in block-1.

so this means 50 of our thunders have no connection with our AWAC's ?? or is there any other way of communication ??
if that question sounds stupid , my apologies

PAF will never pit jf17 against any other airforce, they know then the bubble will burst and all their claims would be vanished, their policy is keep the myth as long as they can.

i think information can be delivered through control tower..
Awacs ==> Base ==> JFT

Technically speaking,

Since JF-17 is not a product of US/NATO but based on the Chinese...

There's noway that MIDS IPO will ever authorize and grand Pakistan to use and integrate the Link 16.

JF-17 is using Rhode & Schwarz SDR (Software defined radio) which provides encrypted voice features. In peer to peer fashion, Block-1 can talk to each other through german SDR installed in it. Since comm links in JF-17 are Western, we are configuring them so that they can talk with Link-16. A customized data link to be more specific

Thats why PAF uses the F-16s with TurAF.

When the JF-17s become capable of the LINK-16 connectivity, we can dispatch them either to Anatolian Eagle or when Turks come here.

It's a temporary solution until they can talk to each directly and not a great approach either using intermediary solution . The latency issues ( time to take one Jf-17 flying over skardu to talk with F-16 flying over sialkot sector during war would require communication taking place in milliseconds). This control tower approach would take 4-5 seconds minimum and when there would be electronic jamming It would worsen the response time.

This radio can link up with HAVE QUICK I/II. So what's requires is customizing the radio by PAF and it will be ready to talk with MIDS

Having a German radio doesn't make it. Link 16 is a military tactical data exchange network link as you know.

Link 16 information is primarily coded in J.-series messages which are binary data words with well-defined meanings. These data words are grouped in functional areas, and allocated to network participation groups(NPG) (virtual networks), most importantly:

  • PPLI, or Precise Participant Location and Identification (network participation groups 5 and 6),
  • Surveillance (network participation group 7),
  • Command (Mission Management/Weapons Coordination) (network participation group 8),
  • (Aircraft) Control (network participation group 9),
  • Electronic Warfare & Coordination (network participation group 10).

It's not all about radio and linking the aircraft to other assets, it never is. That's why MIDS will never grand the Link 16. Thus I doubt they have the acces to produce and integrate the Link 11/16/22 to any other asset.

Pakistan will probably go for its own tactical data network system with support of Chinese.

Don't think that they'll ever be linked together unless JF-17 uses ASELSAN components :/

Radio was tested to be compatible with ASELSAN PRC-9661/5. Believe me, I would know first hand.

The issue is NOT ASELSAN to ASELSAN, its the sharing of Data, voice is not the issue at all with the JF-17 as the R&S radios are all Havequick compatible and so are ASELSAN's.

P.S

The ASELSAN product is better from a product perspective.

I said it if it wasn't German by TDLN wise. But if I am not mistaken. Only the Radio is linkable to any other TDNL system's radios be it Link 16/22, Chinese or Russian....which it has to most simply in order to contact each other.

so that means that they have different way of communicating each other .. is there any way that this Rhode & SDR can connect them to our Early warning Air crafts ??

And the PG locked on F-22 at Shorkoat ....The Raptor pilot left afterwards with a heavy heart !

Makes sense ...Most of the time we see Arrows and Griffins in Turkey ...!
