real question is who will be manufacturing them here, or will they be simple imports=higher cost=no spare parts=failure

Audi Like almost all the other German options is not really affordable for the majority of us Pakistanis,
FAW stands a better chance I think cuz it will be much cheaper but it may have to deal with the stigma associated with the Chinese brands here,
However FAW has been doing well lately

they all will be CBU's initially and will be subject to those ridiculous taxes but there's a chance FAW might get "new comer" advantage in the new auto policy like the one Suzuki is trying to get for Celerio

Add the cheap spare parts which is available easily and mechanics who are not familiar of fully computerised cars yet.

What investment (small) is needed to erect a prefab unit? Clue: Me, you and few other PDF'ers here could scrape enought to set up a 'car plant'.

Order a sign/logo of the company.

Take on a few employees who recieve box of these imported direct from the plant in Europe that makes them.

Now join all of the parts together following the instructions that come with the pack. Spray paint it and bavo you have 'Car Industry' Pakistani style. Total outpuit of this so called factory maybe 5,000 units. Anything about 10,000 being called huge.

One Question Why Import Taxes are so high in Pakistan for Cars
Whats the reason behind , When Gov is already Crying so much that they wants to revive Pakistani auto industry but they keep Forgetting Few things Even if they cry for different manufacturers to come and start in Pakistan but Problem is
They are asking them to Start From A while there is no promise they will be able to secure market
Why suzuki , Toyota , and honda are holding the market because they already hold the market from Spares , to Used and new cars and even if a new company invest most probably they gone fail because people will prefer the proven option whos repair and spares are already in market at cheap price
If There are Low Taxes
People Will Import More Markets , Which will increase amount of used cars and increase numbers of manufacturers in car brands , so cost of repair , spare parts will get lower
it will be alot easier and cheaper for manufactures to bring other and newer models are there cars
and since they have already have cars in used market and they will be already providing spares for used cars , which will Give them confidence to bring new models will lower the repair other cost and Bonus point will be cheaper labour
