They have political differences on Syria, but the trade is growing. I believe that Erdogan is in for a very rough time as the freefalling Turkish economy is causing opposition. There is a good chance that he will lose the next elections as the Turks have a secular history since Mustafa Kemal's era. The growing costs of Syrian war, rising casualties and resentment against refugees is also a factor.
