As someone who is close to many high ranking police officers around Lahore and Faisalabad, I can attest that What you are sharing are small time cops and not necessarily reflective of the overall police forces.

It all has to do with lack of funding, lack of pay, and lack of benefits. It will increase the professionalism of the police if they are paid a decent wage. This is the number one cause of corruption. Increased accountability also is needed.

Ever been to Lahore police headquarters, they are training daily and their professionalism is on display for the public.

For the past 18 years, police forces throughout Pakistan have been falling in the line of duty fighting terrorism and rescuing civilians from bomb blasts. We need to support them more.
