The FLIRs have a much broad spectrum of usage.

AESA radar, HMD/S + HOBS, the structural mods in B model. Instead of entirely new engine it seems Russia has helped modify RD-93. Oh, along with AESA radar, entire EW will be integrated and will be internal.
