Pakistan to make national data base of the criminals

ISLAMABAD - Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has vowed to make a national database of the criminals.

He has said that policies will be designed with the consultation of all stakeholders.

Addressing a ceremony in Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry Monday, he said that reforms will be introduced to strengthen and improve the institutions.

The Minister of State said that federal government will design a policy with the consultation of the provinces to address the issues of business community.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi also met with the Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today.

During the meeting, the consensus has been developed to prepare a national database of criminals.

Minister of State assured federal government's full cooperation to the Sindh government to control criminal activities in the province.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that peace has been restored in Karachi due to joint efforts of provincial government, police, rangers and other law enforcement agencies.

I might be wrong, but i suspect each province might have it's own database instead of a federal level one?

All it takes is an extra field or two in the NADRA database. Done.

It depends on who have access to NADRA database and who needs access to it with all criminal recordz.

I prefere a separate database for the purpose. Why not linked to NADRA database for ID's. Rcords only.

If a criminal record is linked to job reference then you will see everyone straighten out. Big centralized database is needed, with photo id, finger printing, mouth swab sample etc.
