ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan will start exporting 300,000 metric tonnes (MT) of sugar to China from the month of June, 2019.

Beijing has placed the order with Islamabad after signing the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and resultantly the trade between both countries have surged.

The export of sugar will generate revenue of $110 million for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s exports to China are expected to reach $2.2bn in the ongoing calendar year and $3.2bn in 2020

Pakistan to China trade of mere 2.2 Billions is penuts

We should be able to generate 18-25 Billion Trade to China based on what we have

a) Cattle meat
b) Fish
c) Vegetables
d) Fruits (Oranges, Guava, Mangoes , Apples , Bananas etc )
e) Sugar
f) Cement

We still have only scrapped the surface of trade potential with China

Pakistan also have to expand our trade to Central Asia

  • If our trade to china is boosted to 18-25 Billion per year , our financial books would be well balanced

my father was planning to plant trees on his farm land so he visited the village few weeks before trees arrive to get the labor to do the digging and planting....guess what he couldn't find a single person to do that job. So, my question is who will produce

Cattle don't grow on trees

The existing farms , and capacity is enough to generate massive revenue in export market

.
We need to get out of this mindset of being an agriculture economy.

We used to have farming documentary back in days and we need to introduce courses as well now and promote such type of business. I still remember fish and honey bee farming.

I keep reading the information from Pakistan and how millions enter labour market every year and unemployed laying idle, but you say there is not enough labour? Really surprising.

xyxmt mian is absolutely correct. Same situation in India. We keep hearing that there is record unemployment but your try to get labour- casual, unskilled labour mind you, you find it hard to get any and if you get any, they charge you a bomb.

Regards

Pakistan should only export surplus sugar. We don't want shortages in Pakistan.

Still it is good news and Pakistan should understand that there is a lot of further trade potential here...

there is unemployment only because people dont want to work hard, as long as you give them easy job for good money like house work that they will take it but they still charge you an arm and a leg, hard labor work just forget it

Seems a lot of laziness across the board . I also remember reading that is why Bangladesh won a lot of the garment work from Pakistan because their production per hour was much higher and workers willing to work longer.

I think North Indians and Pakistanis have same culture of laziness, south Indian may be different.
