Pakistan to employ anti-terror strategies of other states!

.
They are good at countering any terrorism, but you have now hurt some sentiments of the likes of Ziad Hamids, visible from the facts in this very thread. I would have been the happiest if Pakistan can take a cue from Indians as we would be happy to help.

Pakistan's problem is ONLY Islamic terrorism. We have some Baloch separatists, but most terrorist attacks are still committed by Islamic terrorists.

I understand. India employs a very strong policy of close monitoring of any case of radicalization. IF you have followed the recent Mumbai boys who returned from Iraq, were frilled to the core and even went through Narco tests just to ensure that they arent radicalized. Some days ago I suggested some TTA here that you need to keep a strong check on your anti-socials, especially the one who are involved in radical extremism. Follow their activites and stop it before hand before they embarrass you. Stop the venom before it reaches some cleaned souls.

Second, when you deal with terrorists, you need to deal with them with Iron fist. If you tale a cue from IB, which is specially deals anti-terror intelligence gathering, invests a lot of resources, I mean huge, just to gather all intelligence of what is happening where.

Last of all, when you deal with national security, both internal and external, dont let that get influenced by politics. We have always taken that route, a threat is a threat and need to be eliminated.

We collaberate with all countries in the world, including some close friends of Pakistan, like gulf and even China (remember 26/11 tapes?), and make treaties and pacts for counter terrorism co-operations and follow it to the T.

Indonesia.........Detasemen Khusus 88 "anti terrorist unit"

Detachment 88 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Detachment 88 was formed after the 2002 Bali bombings[4] and became operational in 2003.[5] The name of the organization is a result of a senior Indonesian police official mishearing "ATA" in a briefing on the US Department of State's Anti-Terrorist Assistance program as "88".

This special unit is being funded by the US government through its State Department's Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). The unit is currently being trained in Megamendung, 50 km south of Jakarta, by the CIA, FBI, and US Secret Service.

Most of these instructors were ex–US special forces personnel.[7] Training is also carried out with the aid of Australian Special Forces and various intelligence agencies.

Detachment 88 is designed to become an anti-terrorist unit that is capable to counter various terrorist threats, from bomb threats to hostage situations. This 400-personnel strong special force went to full operation in 2005. They consist of investigators, explosive experts, and an attack unit that includes snipers.

The reason of why our police get training from USA and even Aussie is because our current law prevent any military unit to operate for internal affairs. And there is rivalry between our Police and Army so they are reluctant to be trained by Army. Actually, our Army have anti terrorist squad in their special forces and had make successful operation abroad like in Woyla Thailand and many operation for domestic affair before the law is changed and force the police to take responsibility for any domestic threat.

For Army, it is a big no no to be trained by Aussie.

I would say it is a wise derision.

A combination of Education+Diplomacy+Social welfare+intelligence+Hot persuite should be an effective combination of which will work.

Why has it taken the slaughter of children for Pakistan to realise it needs a functioning and strong police force?

TTP have been active for more than 10 years.

We need a corruption free police force which is armed appropriately and trained.

Also we need SWAT teams for rapid response on terrorist incidents and an intelligence agency like homeland security dedicated to domestic surveillance which feeds information to provincial police and SWAT teams.

The government mentioned they would raise a rapid response force of 5000 a year ago, where is this @cb4 ? Why say something a year ago and not do it?

How much would this gear cost?

Not more than the lives of innocent citizens.

What kind of innovation are you talking about, religious bigot?[/QUOTE
Look at India or Israel, if you really want to fight plague of Islamic terrorism and extremism from Saudi satellite state al-Bakistan!
Seriously, do u live on arctic pole ? curbing Islamic terrorism ? why don't u just leave the disguise and say curbing the Islam ? U seriously mean Israel is curbing terrorism ? There is fight for freedom going on in Palestine region. Mention any international law which declares freedom fighters as terrorists. Mention a law, don't come up with silly reasons. And for India, if by any chance u happen to go to school u can know the history. U liberal bigots should be getting some education at some neutral venue.

Every Indonesian understand such rivalry, just asked any Indonesian that you know (Army vs Police). And Aussie army and our army was fought each other at Borneo (Ganyang Malaysia campaign) during 60's and at very emotional stage at
East Timor in 99, and keep in rivalry until Today. No way they want to be trained by Aussie.

Our Army anti terrorist unit was formed at 80 because of Woyla incident (plane hijacking) by Islam extrimist in Thailand. Later we learn from German anti terrorist unit by sending two officers there at 80's.

Talking about TTP, Indonesian has similar like that. Just google DI/TII, we fought them in 70's. Today terrorist is in very small number compare to that time. But they are not like TTP/AQ who bother to kill civillian, and they have huge army and supporters. We use all out war to beat them. They are more idealistic at conducting war using Shariah Islam.

You are right they are our biggest problem. Dude terrorists have no religion, stop calling it Islamic terrorism and just call it terrorism instead.

Sure they do. When you commit terrorism in the name of Islam, you are called Islamic terrorist.

. . . .
Retired SOF soldiers should be employed into a counter terrorist force.
