There is talk that lately-appointed Chief of General Staff of the Pakistani Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa intends to reactivate contacts with the UAE to buy the Emirati Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets in favor of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Bhai, Initially dubbed Mirage 2000-9, this variant saw the upgrade of the radar and the associated avionics, the change of weapons configuration, and the extension of range.

1. we will need full setup for them from scratch which means we will need atleast 36-48 old jets which will have to come from multiple sources
2. will need french blessing and upgrades which will not happen as india will press hard the french and there are billion of $$ of procurement coming in which india might punish the french
3. the cost is too much

if qatar-uae gives them for scratch prices and france asks for reasonable price and maintenance is setup at cheaper price even than question will be..why not block3!

Very unlikely to happen - if India's Rafales go ahead they will bury these planes. It is futile to consider a direct inferior line of the same plane which the enemy is considering

with right avionics and AAM these will be as good as rafales but it will not be cost effective neither beneficial for french to do so

Mirages dont bring us anything that we already dont have in our inventory. It will come with strings attached from french and we will be begging them for spare parts for decades to come. Better stick to Block 3 which is much better option considering we can arm it with any weapon you can imagine.

Why should we go down the same path and replace vintage jets with more vintage jets?

M2k's are certainly better than older Mirage III/V even with ROSE upgrades , and with a new Package from the French you can have a pretty decent strike package for both land and Naval targets .
