Production rate of jft is slow.
Range of f16 is more and it can be inducted within weeks.
Service life and avionics can be upgraded in the F-16 for roughly the same cost as of the jft.

Engines will be the old ones and CFTs cant be fitted either... other than that, they will have same avionics and capability as the 52+

They look very much like the F16 PAF acquired way back in 1990. NON bvr capable.

Silence on Geronimo Operation, example of last drone attack etc,thousands of examples exists.

Funny thing is that they are still not giving us F-16s...

and starting War from Afghanistan and destabilizing PAKISTAN since 9/11.

Pakistan is no more their slave for F-16s.

It's not a 7th generation fighter jet.

TTP is killing pakistani children. Its our war. We have finally risen up to the task and making pak a safer place to live in. F16s and drones are 2 separate issues. Pak gov cant stop drone attacks no matter which aircraft she possess. Lets stick to topic here

Brother MLU upgradation in Turkey a good idea but still these upgraded Jets not equalent to Block 51 + at any condition.

Bro as long as i know we got 12+1 or 13+1 (lil doubtful about the numbers) from Jordan and as per reports coming from Turkey, they are being sent their for up gradation. As the RJAF F-16s did come at damn low cost and PAF was able to recover them quite well and we have $200 million plus money left by 8 F-16s so who knows we might get another full Squadron of RJAF F-16s.

We still could have got it if our foreign minister mr nawaz shareef that guy who is also PM & defense minister had bothered to speak up & explain how we are fighting against terrorism & we need these F-16's but like always if nihari, offshore & swiss accounts are on mind u can't pay attention on anything else especially if it is related to Pakistan & those things that can hurt Modi friend's india.

Well the deal with USA was cancelled due to expensive deal , not necessarily any other issue
We found a cheap seller of course we will get stuff that fits in budget

If you have funds for Toyota corolla , you can't get a Lexus

The Corolla will still get you places, get job done and bring you back home

Jordan are they purchasing a replacement or they don't need planes ?

I think the challenge to modernise PAF properly on a tiny budget is leading to some very very difficult decisions.

PAFS plan was to keep getting USA drip feed of F16/52 to get fleet of F16/52 doubled from 18 to 36 with mostly grant aid.

Use its serious connections with china to get more JF17 and upgrades over time

NOW this usa clamp down of F16/52 and aid is a worry.

without a strong GDP and military budget it will be impossible to keep pace at what you really need

I think if we can get from Jordan at a cheaper price and get them upgraded, is not a bad idea at all. Listen it is not F-16 that's the issue here but the baggage which comes with it if we buy from USA. What I understand is that PAF needs a sizeable number of F-16s and JF-17s to bridge the gap with IAF until it is able to induct its next platform. ...that's what their thinking is in my opinion and I neither totally agree with this approach nor totally against it.
