RJAF have F-16A/B MLU's not Block 52 which we wanted from the US.

First of all these F-16s are way cheap and secondly we have already bought something like 13 of these from RJAF and are reportedly upgrading these in Turkey. Important point is that US would not have say how we wud use these F-16s and along with JF-17s we need another platform to carry special munition after retirement of Mirages. These F-16s have served us so well that PAF or any country operating these can not get rid of these without some other equal alternative.

With 190 aircraft reportedly having to replace by 2020 we have to shake each corner to cater for numbers or we would be seeing repeat telecast of what happening to Mig-21s and Mig-27s in our neighbor. Thunder also can not cater for all and we dont have that much money for PAF now as its PN whose turn is now up there to. Also life of these F-16s aint short and that is why we are upgrading them.
