i think AIP subs with nukes is a better and cheaper option
Correction, that's the only option.
Now, see, I'm not starting a troll fest but Pakistan is simply not capable of building a nuclear submarine.
You may lease one, but a leased SSN/SSGN will come with many restrictions (even the Akula SSN used by
IN comes with many restrictions), and above all a nuke sub is simply too maintenance-heavy and
Pakistan's fragile economy (and the ever more fragile PN's share of the defence spending) can-not
sustain a nuke sub.
the indurance of a nucllear sub is 70-90 days while an AIp is 30-35 days
thats the main difference ..their are arguments that which one is quieter but both will switch to batteries when they are in danger spot..
And most N-subs today are capable of diving to greater depths than AIP/conventional subs. If you
dive deep enough (say, more than 500m), you can completely avoid Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD)
contact. Akula-II is capable of diving beyond 500 meters.
In all conditions, a conventional sub is ALWAYS quieter than a Nuclear one.
