Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra already made this public that they can increase the production rate from current 16 jets annually to 25 jets annually.

Alhamdulilah, JF-17 is a modern 4th generation fighter which is developed for our own requirements and we used it effectively in counter-TTP precision strikes. PAF seniors already said that JF-17 Thunder is our destiny. InshaAllah, with the help of Allah Kareem. It will be one of the best 4.5th generation jets in the world and we also have some options available to put some billion $ in this project and make it a 5th generation aircraft. We already made many records in this project and we will again stun the world with our achievements.

When jf-17 (block 2) is such a wonderful jet. .. i am wondering what will be jf-17 block 5 in it's own ..

1. Stealthy design (ex: Internal weapons bay)
2. Top class Speed for Air superiority (atleast Mach 2-2.5 which is achievable with dual engines)
3. Top class range (atleast 4-5000KM)
4. Nato standard BVR missiles
5. Top class maneuverability

All this requires a complete redesign of the jet & i doubt PAF will go for this risky option.

First of all, funds are the issue.

But i'm not in favor of wasting our resources on new project which will take around 10-20 years of R&D & damn lot of money. By the time we could pick up J-31 off the shelves in bulk which would be operational by 2020-25.
China is not aggressive towards us for now & don't think they will be in future b/c by the time they will be tied to CPEC even more tightly that our defence will be their defence

Its so strange to see news like this about JF time to time but yet to see a Block 2 with IRV probe , they need to increase the production that means inject some more $$ in the production lines or create news line ..
there are news about that China also runs a Production line for JF and can deliver 40-50 at some where post 2018 ..
so its strange that what's happening in JF program ..
