TTP Setting Up Checkpoints, Patrols in Kurram, Orakzai Agencies
by Jason Ditz, November 26, 2009

Villagers across the Kurram and Orakzai Agencies of Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) are reporting a massive influx of Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants setting up checkpoints and patrols in their villages.

The militants are evidently from the South Waziristan Agency, which they left following the Pakistani military’s invasion.

Such a possibility had been feared as a reason why the Pakistani military has been increasing attacks in the areas outside South Waziristan, and has yet to capture a single high profile TTP leader in its offensive.

In spite of this, the military continues to maintain that the attack on South Waziristan is going exceedingly well, and officials say that even if the TTP relocates outside of the agency they will be too disorganized to be any serious threat. While this may be the case from the government’s perspective, the offensive seems to just be exporting South Waziristan’s problems to the rest of FATA.

Won't be there too long. PA and PAF are already after them in those areas.

There is no such thing as Pakistani Taliban the only talibans are the ones that cross border from Afghanistan due to lack of security this is why I say the only solution is that Pakistan should move in 400-500 km into Afghanistan and setup a security buffer zone to end the issue -

The article should really state , cross border , armed militants trying to establish presence but Army is on the case should be plain and simple

^@AzadPakistan^ Sorry I dont agree with you, one part of the problem is blowback fron the 80s and early 90s. Furthermore why drag ourselves deeper into this sh!t. The 'TTP' have pakistani centric agenda therefore most of thier manpower is drawn from our own nation. The solution is better and more strict border control (quite difficult) and the other which we are nearly achieving is to wage war and gain victory on the 'ideological front'.

I have also read this news comming from foreign media!
Since than i'm wondering what's cooking!!!
Specially in the backdrop of indian threat of limited war with nukes!
We know US strtegic wepons are piled up in Afghanistan but will US give those to there new product TTP? or to dpork kapoora?
I see difficult times ahead for Pak army...... while they have inflicted heavy damage to the TTP.
Zardari cannot cover the evidence of US-indian complicity in killing of Pakistani civilians and target killings of key security officers and research scientists and in some cities selected overseas Pakistanis and their families have been targeted.

And yet they are all foreigners with no background or identity of Pakistan!
Do you know how Pakistan's national database is structured
I hope not other wise you should have not made such a sensless statement.
FYI, any one who is Pakistanis are linked with each other in national database like a big family, and non of the captured TTP operatives were proven Pakistanis most of them cannot speak local language.
Why do you think these menace surfaced in 2007? out of no where? no local tribes support them and there roots cannot be traced any where in Pakistan.
There wepons and explosives they use to kill civilians are made in india, israel and US.
Don't forget their agenda of going after educated masses is analogus to indian and US agenda of conquring Pak army and ISI.
Didn't it make them partners struggling for common objective?
Didn't western media suddenly sarted propaganda against Pak army? do you think TTP has influence over wall street journal, times magazine, BBC etc. etc.

.
Excellent, so now we know exactly where they are.

What a foolish statement? That really shows ignornace on your part and and your debating capabilities. By the way what are you doing here in this news clipping? You continue to slide downwards.

Chase em. Stupid media, creating panic out of nothing. We have to make them go back to Afghanistan.

the PA should not give them time to regroup if they are trying to.

if they are given time the condition might degrade into one similar to what the soviets had in afganistan. they won almost all military encounters that took place, but the insurgents avoided major offensives and simply moved to places where the offensives were not taking place. so inspite of all the hard work the soviets did not get control of the place. lets hope the PA has learnt a lesson from that and has a good strategy to ensure that the TTP dont escape to and create trouble in neighboring places.

Pakistan army not want these funded terrorist to regroup there but US are giving them chance in afghanistan by leaving their post near afghanistan border.

there have also been reports from the pakistani media that TTP and local pakistani terrorist groups like LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammad are linked to each other and are working actively in southern punjab and sind province..it's very clear that TTP has spread its tentacles across whole pakistan let alone waziristan
