We strongly condemn the threats of violence on Election Day by the terrorists. We urge the Pakistani voters to be vigilant and safe but do go out and vote. This is the only way terrorist who are hell bent on derailing the election process can be defeated in their own game. We stand by the people of Pakistan in these testing times. We wish for them a safe and peaceful Election Day.

The TTP and co are a bunch of fools. Maiming and maligning Pakistan and Pakistanis for no good reason. I agree that Pak ought to reconsider its role in the WoT - withdraw and reach a peace with tribals wherein the pre 2003 situation is restored. That is to say they are largely self governing within the Federal body.

However, thereafter any continuous Islamist activity should be dealt with heavily.

Must say I am all for a secularist, Central Asian model of state-faith relations. They are Muslims, yet they keep religion seperate from politics. It elevates religion to keep it apart from politics.
