Pakistan successfully test-fires Land based anti-ship missile

Nothing is disclosed about this missile just that we have tested a missile.
here it clearly say:

March 16 (UPI) -- Pakistan's navy completed a successful test firing of a land-based anti-ship missile, the branch announced in a statement on Thursday.

The country's defense officials said the recently demonstrated weapon was equipped with advanced technology and avionics, and is capable of accurately engaging targets at sea. The missile's identity and manufacturer were not disclosed.

The test firing took place from a coastal region, and was able to hit its sea-based target. Several top Pakistani naval officials were present for the event, including Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Saddique and Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.

So we have a secret weapon now. The missile has not even been named lol.

If the aim is to directly compete against the Indo-Russian BrahMos, then CASC will have derived the CM-302 ASCM from the YJ-12. Supersonic cruising is one of the BrahMos’ marquee features, which imbues it with a higher threat rating than subsonic anti-ship missiles, such as the Exocet and C-802.

A look at the CM-302 ASCM (as shown at Air Show China 2016) clearly shows that it has intakes for an air-breathing engine. The design is identical to the ramjet-powered YJ-12. However, as with all export-grade missiles from China, the CM-302’s range is capped to 290 km.

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) has been working to offer a direct analogue to the BrahMos since at least 2014, when it had unveiled its CX-1 ASCM, which was envisaged with a scramjet engine (Aviation Week). CASIC’s CM-302 directly competes with the CASC CX-1.

The CASIC YJ-12 was cleared for use from the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN)’s H-6G bombers and JH-7B fighter-bombers (U.S Department of Defense). The PLAN and People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) were also in the process of integrating the YJ-12 to their respective J-16 and J-11 fleets (IHS Jane’s).

The CM-302 is expected to attract a strong customer base, especially since it is among a handful of cruising supersonic ASCMs on the market. China’s leading conventional arms client Pakistan could be viewed as a strong potential CM-302 customer, which could utilize the CM-302 from land and potentially even surface warships and submarines to bolster its anti-access and area denial capabilities.

At this point it is all speculations and nothing else we don't know what they have tested other than the missile is fired from land and hits at sea. Pakistan is good with developing missiles and it has many types. so it could be an anti ship ballistic missile, It could be a cruise missile. It could be a solid fueled anti ship missile. Now we already have a cruise missile that can target a ship at sea, We have ballistic missile but the tech tested can only be determined by the reason of hiding it.

First answer the question why are they hiding the missile?

So will Pakistan hide and anti-ship ballistic missile? No Iran just tested one few day back the missile is no big deal so what? Will Pakistan hide a anti ship cruise missile? Why we already have a 800km surface to surface cruise missile and they just need to change the navigation to a ship detecting radar and we are good to go but the question still remains what is so important about this missile that they are hiding the missile and not disclosing it.

The missile is being hidden because of it shape design and navigation as the missile is somehow able to beat anti missile counter measures and in all reports there is huge emphasis on the Navigation of the missile that means the missile is stealth and has a navigation system that is not based on RADAR so there is something with the missile that will give up it navigation system details that is why it is hidden and that means only one thing...

Good Question.. and while waiting we are trying to figure out the type, nothing wrong with that..the only thing we know from thre official source is that it is MTCR compliant, with a range of 290 km.. and that is on which we should base our search/speculations..

Beidoo!? GPS and INS!?

MTCR has nothing to do with the test when you are developing so the missile is not in violation and no one any more cares about MTCR Pakistan is beyond that mark they know all and cannot question it now it is too late for that. The missile is long ranged so that means they range can be confirmed by NOTAM easily.

Beidoo!? GPS and INS!?
Anti ship missile are not based on GPS unless they are with nuclear warhead so it is definitely not GPS or xyz it is most probably something that is more responsive to the movement of the target as it is anti ship missile.

Really? because half of the flight is done with satellite data link in the video below

Curiosity kills the cat. Can't be that carrier killer, right????

br

so bro we have brahmos now??
no!
The test was most likely another one of the same C602 Zarb!

So it was Zarb??
Most likely!

Has anybody noticed that this photo says it is Pakistan Navy File Photo? And this missile is never acknowledged before?

Dont worry about them!
They are showing an ESSM and calling it a AShW missile test!! Talk about credibility of our media people!!

I doubt it's C-602. It's some new Missile not Chinese one

Yea report somewhere talks of "ability to target enemy ships at LONG RANGE". Since every detail of this test is hidden, we know Navy wanted to test the missile yet keep a secret as well. C-602 is already revealed and there is no point in not telling its name if it was another test of same missile.

Look at the coordinates marked for the test! That also indicates a range area of around 300 Km! :)
They almost NEVER give the details with the test and the people keep guessing what it is. That is how it is.

Question is from Missile is launched if we have lunched let say from border of Sindhi and Punjab than ?

Than those coordinates should have been marked as well. it is not like you only have to tell only about the area that is over the sea. The firing took place from coastal area.
