Pakistan starts its own olive oil production

How a dam built in kpk can irrigate regions of Therparker? Or may areas around Quetta?
Both are difficult to be irrigated from kpk, even from sindh too, due to no natural flow... there used to be nara river,.. now there is nara canal, originating from Sindh river. So any stored water in kpk can be supplied to sindh river, then to nara canal and thus some part of tharparkar but with losses.

to drain quetta from kpk is not possible as there is no natural slope there (kpk to quetta)... as altitude is different..

P.S.. Oooppsss edited... nearly all kpk river like gomal, kabul, swat ends up in indus so technically the dam water can be fed to tharparkar... @fitpOsitive
and dams can only be built in hills where reservoir can be formed.. in plain, only barrage can be made so no lake but just blocks water till bank height...

Taking the 5 dams you mentioned as an example,

1) Mohmand Dam drains into Swat River which drains into Kabul River which drains into the Indus.

2) Kurram Tangi Dam drains into Kaitu River which drains into Kurram River which then drains into the Indus.

3) Dassu is located directly on the Indus.

4) Diamir Bhasha Dam will be located directly on the Indus.

5) Suki Kinari will drain into the Kunhar River which drains in the Jhelum River which then drains into the Indus.

Indus is the primary source of fresh water and flooding for Sindh.

Tharparkar has no notable natural sources of water. That includes rivers where one could build dams on. One of the reasons why it's a desert, actually. Apart from ground water, it is supplied with fresh water through a small system of man made canals, e.g. Nara Canal (longest canal in Pakistan) and LBOD. Guess where these canals get their water from? Indus.

Quetta already has a system of around 8 small to medium dams and reservoirs for water supply. It is also supplied by a system of seasonal water channels fed by snow melt.

Btw, for Balochistan, the Mirani Dam with 373,000,000m3 of storage was built in 2006 and the Sabakzai Dam with 40,334,856m3 of storage was built in 2007. The Naulong Dam with 298,703,662m3 of storage is under construction. For Sindh, the Darawat Dam (150,000,000m3) was built in 2014 and the Chotiari Dam (750,000m3) was built in 2002 on the above mentioned Nara Canal which supplies water to Tharparkar. The Nai Gaj Dam (370,044,551m3) is currently under construction. You'll notice that they are still complaining.

If I accept everything you said, why all Balochistan and all Thar area is still dry? I see an elite green belt, that is running from top to extreme South. Yes few projects are underway, and still I don't see any chance of Balochistan and Thar becoming green.

Are you deliberately trying to muddle this?

It is not up to you to accept or deny what I have stated above. What I have stated are facts and, believe it or not, facts are not dependent on you accepting them. Or on your completely ludicrous counterarguments.

That "elite" green belt has one of the world's largest river systems running through it. Tharparkar, on the other hand, is a desert which, apparently surprisingly for some, has no rivers running through it. Would not have had any water running through it at all were it not for the few man built canals. Balochistan is another desert, an arid and mountainous one. Again, not a whole lot of water running through it. Do you know why no one has dug a canal to Balochistan from the rivers in KPK and Punjab, like with Tharparkar?

You should maybe take all this up with God and nature? And while you're at it, lobby a little for the Sahara and the Kalahari deserts as well. Those elites from the Amazon have left them nothing.

This post of yours is a perfect example of those 'nefarious regional political agendas' I mentioned above. You'll present the most idiotic arguments to further them. And when someone calls you out on them, like I just have, you will run to your friends and blame me for oppressing you.

ps: Tharparkar is pretty green in that picture you posted. Do you know why that is or should we bring in some elites from Tharparkar to explain it?

I stand corrected.

Can you not see the rest of my post as well?
If a jungle can be made a capital of a country, and business hub as jungle, then dams and canals can also be made for the people of Pakistan.
Period

More nonsense.

1) Why would making a jungle the capital of any country be a problem? Apart from the fact that Islamabad was not built in a jungle.

2) Your ilk are stopping the dams from being built. That is what your entire presence on this thread has been about; nonsensical politically charged garbage disguised as concern for the weak.

3) Canals have already been made. We have one of the largest canal systems in the world, in fact. More should be built, but without more dams upstream? Where will you get the water for them? From those 30 small scale dams that you posted?

and business hub as jungle

Heh....as if it already was not all too obvious.

How is this person a moderator while being openly racist against Urdu speakers.

Not Urdu speakers or anyone else, except stupidity and regional/ethnic/linguistic/religious hatred peddlers.

Notice how none of my posts have anything to do with Urdu speakers, Karachi, or anything else that might put you in a twist. Yet here you are. Neither did I bring any of it up. Your friend brings in Karachi in a debate on dams and you come running all frothy at the mouth yelling that I'm racist against Urdu speakers?

You can't expect to spew regional garbage and not be called out. How many more times are you going to try it?

Also Mr.Know-it-all moderator, the overwhelming majority of Karachi are Urdu speaking who despise the PPP. It is the PPP and their slave voters from interior Sindh who are mostly ethnic Sindhi who oppose dam construction.

Why would I care? That was not being discussed. Go read the thread first.

Btw, looks like you're racist against Sindhis.

Maybe if you actually lived in Pakistan rather than being an expert from abroad you would know what I just said.

You do know that I can see your IP address? A bit colder today in Mississauga isn't it? You thought I wouldn't know just because you set your location flag as Pakistan? We all already know that you're a hypocrite and a fabricator, you can stop now.

Regardless, my location has nothing to do with anything. Don't care much for ad hominem.

Or maybe it is your racist mentality that prevents you from seeing the truth.

Truth? That a desert is not green because some "ethnic elite" don't let it be?

Now don't ban me like you did with @Cliftonite just for having an opposing view and being pro-Karachi

Ah so that's why he was banned? Obviously had nothing to do with his statements supporting terrorism. You're not helping your case here, bud.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: Why did you delete your post? Are you going to now claim that I deleted it to suppress your brilliant arguments?

1. Deleted my post because of your past history of banning Karachi based posters because of your racist mentality.

I bet.

Wait how are you still not banned after dozens of idiotic debates with me? Even after childish attempts at personal attacks....

2. Yes, I'm currently in Canada just like you. However, when the pandemic hit I had moved to Pakistan and was working from home from there and that point had changed my flags, only recently moved back in December. I will change my flags back again if it is causing you to wet your diaper. I have also lived over two decades in Pakistan and still have immediate family there who I support financially.

Oh stop it you.....already said we knew you were a hypocrite and a liar.

Anyway, shouldn't you be staying quiet since you don't live in Pakistan, as per your own statement? I welcome your input though.

You on the other hand seem like confused Canadian born desi.

Is that meant as a slight? I mean, aren't you an immigrant here? I mean, you want what I have but are still trying to insult me for having it? I already said that your hypocrisy was obvious enough, no need to go the extra mile.

3. You said "Your ilk are stopping the dams from being built.".... which Urdu speaker opposed dam construction?

You clearly don't know what "ilk" means. It has nothing to do with ethnicity, family, or even the city one resides in. For example, when I say "your ilk", it can mean liars, hypocrites, ethno-linguistic hate peddlers, or immigrants, depending on the context. What it does not mean is Urdu Speakers.

I suggest a dictionary.

Maybe growing up in Canada you thought all of Karachi is Sindhi because it is in Sindh. Infact only about 10-15% of Karachi's population is Sindhi. Read the census, flawed as it may it still kind of reflected the truth.

Maybe I had no clue to which ethnicity he belongs to? Maybe I never addressed his ethnicity? Maybe I never said anything about Karachi or its people at all? Maybe I responded to his thinly veiled political views alone?

Despite being an immigrant I'm pretty sure I earn more than you and pay more taxes than you Mr. confused desi. I surely don't want what 'you have'. Put a lid on your arrogance Sham Idrees. You are a moderator of a defense forum not the defense minister

Oh so now please explain what you meant by 'your ilk oppose dam construction'.

Also have seen your racist posts multiple times whenever the topic is related to Karachi. The fact that a low life like you is a moderator here says alot about PDF.

I hope you do. Hope you make more.

Mr. confused desi. I surely don't want what 'you have'.

I knew no one could be this dishonest and dense without deliberately wanting to be.

Oh so now please explain what you meant by 'your ilk oppose dam construction'.

Dictionary too difficult for you? No worries.

As explicitly stated in at least two of my posts, "those with nefarious regional political agendas".

Also have seen your racist posts multiple times whenever the topic is related to Karachi.

Ah yes, more of those lies and hypocrisy. Can't blame you, you have nothing else. What else could you do when someone repeatedly calls you out on your lies which are designed to further your regional/ethno-linguistic garbage?

The fact that a low life like you is a moderator here says alot about PDF.

Wait aren't you afraid that I'd ban you? After all, that desperate slight, as ineffective as it may be, is against the forum rules.
