Pakistan snubs India over bulletproof car at SAARC summit

.
The question here is not entitled or not..... True he is entitled for such provision.......The question here was Why?

1) Because security issue (could be bugging)
2) Because of Ego (using Indian owned car)
3) Because he is comfortable using a set of car and he dont want to use any other
4) Just because He is entitled......

(either way it is not my or our concern)

Indian owned is not an issue, because it is not an Indian car anyway. It's a armored German vehicle. So let's take that out of the discussion here.

What could be the reason was that security might be an issue or any bugging done therein. It is a good move, because the sensational media in your country will make a big deal out of it by claiming 'Pakistan's PM used Indian supplied vehicle' and the half brain dead population would assume that somehow there were no other options available.

Bring your own car just avoids the whole issue, after all India and Pakistan are the two dominant forces at the summit anyway.

Times of India already has this as the news on the front page and in big. WTH.

. . .
^^^Bullet proof NANOs are the last thing I want to see!!!
the armor would weight more than the car probably.

These a special edition bimmers i guess, which come factory installed. Are modified for run flat use, stiff suspension to deal with extra armor weight, etc

Is he going to use Indian Air Space or go via China as Musharraf did?

.
Pakistan and Nepal are good relations so why to make Nepal pay the rent to India over this car? It is basically good gesture from Pakistan towards Nepal.

Move on guys! it is a matter between two friends.

.
Maybe he can bring his own Hirepool and Portaloo too..............These days Pakistani leaders are more comfortable using them.

If so car Provided by Nepal government a Bullet proof LIMO could have been used.

.
It is not made by India, it is a German automobile.
Right! But they are being procured from India. And where the Pakistani government is concerned, anything connected to India is sacrilege!!

For your info, the Indian government had agreed to provide six armoured BMW cars to be used during the upcoming 18th Saarc Summit without levelling a charge to Nepal and an agreement to this effect was signed in New Delhi recently.

Thirty two more non-armoured BMW and Mercedes Benz cars will be hired from India for the summit.

LOL!!! You used that word. . . .
Yes you are right the armor would outweigh the actual car!!

Good for you. But we are fully capable of bringing in our own car, so what is the problem?

How about the other Indian non-armored BMWs and Mercs that all the foreign officials will be using? Will the Pakistanis fly in their Mehrans too? :P

.
6 BMW car of 7 series Bullet Proof is provided by Indian Government where as rest 20 Mercedes + 12 BMW for other dignitaries will be hired from INDIAN contractors paying rent.
Nepal is paying RENTALS for the cars. When the car is provided by the Govt of Nepal, it does not matter from where the car is being procured. Every member of SAARC is a developing nation and every SAARC nation is capable to bring their own bullet proof cars. Thats not the point. I would say its not a snub to India but a snub to Nepal, if at all. Else Nawaz has every right to bring his own car.
