It's the job of the government and not the military. If military is suppose to do everything then why have this pathetic excuse of a government? Military does convey it's concern but they do it their way and military to military. Government to government it's the FO, FM and PM. Since we don't have an FM so in our case just PM and FO and we all know what kind of job they are doing .

I don't have an iota of trust on my political Governments and so I look towards the Military especially in matters concerning national security. And the military has let us down for a long time now. It's like we can look to no one.

Majority of Pakistanis have no trust in their government, question arises what have we done about it other than debating here? Nothing Thats the sad reality. Change would come from the people. Again its not the military fault that our PM is on self imposed exile and Pakistan is running without a FO so to say. When we chose morons like these we cannot blame the army. The blame on lies on us.
Military hasnt intervened in the political matters and i think they have done the right thing. We people should learn the cost of our decisions.

The United States defence establishment Pentagon has urged Pakistan to stop providing safe havens to terrorist and extremist groups in its soil in a bid to help improve the security environment of the region.

The Department of Defense in its report to the Congress titled "Enhancing Security and Stability in Afghanistan" stated "Pakistan must play a role in reducing the threat from terrorist and militant groups in the region", reports Khaama Press.

The report further added consistent mid-level military-to-military dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan on specific issues, such as the shared threat from Islamic State - Khurasan (IS-K), and occasional discussions at higher levels of the military and government early in the reporting period were encouraging.

"However, sustained Pakistani efforts to pressure the Haqqani Network and the Taliban and to disrupt active threat streams are necessary to help decrease violence in the region", the report said.

The report also mentioned that the U. S. continues to support the re-invigorated efforts of the Quadrilateral Coordination Group, which includes the Afghan, Pakistani, and Chinese governments, to set conditions for an eventual Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace process with the Taliban and other militant groups.

Despite this, the prospects for a successful dialogue were hampered by the Taliban's April 19, HPA in Kabul this year, the Afghan government's subsequent response imploring Pakistan to take more direct action against extremist groups seeking safe haven in Pakistan, and the death of Taliban leader Mullah Mansour.

"The United States continues to be clear with Pakistan about steps it should take to improve the security environment and deny safe haven to terrorist and extremist groups. These conversations continue to affect not only U.S. dialogue with Pakistan on security and stability in Afghanistan but also during discussion of other issues in the U.S.-Pakistan bilateral relationship such as security assistance," the report added.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistan for failing to take actions against the groups using the Pakistani soil to carry out attacks in Afghanistan.

The Afghan officials suspect the Haqqani terrorist network and the Taliban group leaderships are based in Quetta and Peshawar cities of Pakistan.

But to what end? The people are naive, they are kept illiterate and engaged in senseless ethnic/caste and/or creed binds beyond which they are incapable of looking. People in interior Sindh are so darned naive that they actually believe the Benazir Income Support Program to be funded by BB's own wealth and that she made a will that all her wealth be distributed amongst the poor of Sindh, this is how the people are misled.

The whole country is ethnically divided and we are all insincere and suspicious towards each other. This politically motivated and fueled hatred could only have been controlled under a military leadership and I had pinned so much hope on General Raheel Sharif that now I am hurting.

Every day there are news reports of corruption at a scale which we cannot begin to comprehend yet the elite involved in all that corruption is roaming free and enjoying all the ill gotten wealth. Only Dr. Asim is under custody other then hundreds of MQM members, as if the operation is 70% against TTP, 28% against MQM and 2% against odds such as Dr. Asim and Ayyan Ali. And the magnitude of corruption keeps on increasing.

Besides if military gets involved now, it will only provide Nawaz with an opportunity to become a political martyr only to return as a hero because we as a nation have a very short memory. The idle thing is to let this government carry on till the time it either falls itself which many people are predicting or if not than it completes its tenure and than the nation could judge for themselves how roshin of a Pakistan did they really get.

That does not mean MQM start taking money from RAW and propose people to take arms against the state and kill people. You said where in the reckoning for PPP? Well Dr Asim is PPP reckoning. Also thanks to Zardari PPP is now non existing in Punjab. Their only mandate comes from SIndh. If Karachi can be made into a separate province things can get better. PML is never going to join PPP that would a suicide for them specially when they can make the government by wining in Punjab alone. Solution to that is make new province out of Punjab specially from Multan side.
In the end people have to stand up for their rights. If they dont than history is a testimony that such nations perished.
