Pakistan should invest in multi engine fighter jet project

Pakistan does not require multi engine jets. We don't have a very large territory so no real need. Air warfare is evolving towards smaller autonomous platforms. They are also expensive to operate and maintain.

Pakistan does require a multi engine fighter jet if not then Pak wouldn't be trying to get Su 35 from Russia from several years but Russia doesn't wants to sell it to Pak, thats one of the reason i made this thread.

There is a need for a twin-engine fighter, especially for our navy so that it can operate longer and further. We won't need EFT's if a twin-engine fighter can go the same length as a single engine with 2/more EFT's.

For deep penetrating strikes, we also need a twin-engine fighter. I know that maintenance is hell but I'm sure we can come up with creative ideas to keep the maintenance on the low side.

Also, whose gonna control those small UAV's?? Definitely not ground control....you need a "mothership" that does that and that's where twin-engine fighters come in. :D

EDIT: EFT = External Fuel Tanks

This specification was mentioned once but later statements contrary to it also came out by Alan Wanes and PAC Chairman... But, I still believe the design we are working on by ourselves right now is based on a single engine.
Naah, that's called design iterations and in the conceptual design phase, they might have explored the possibility but I really don't think it will go forward to the next phase of detailed design. PAF has no experience of engine design and definitely we won't surpass China or Russia in next 20 years and that's me being generous. No western engine will be available without risk of political limitations. China does not even has an engine that powerful in development.....so are we talking about project Azm to be finished in 2028 i.e. 9 year from now or 2128?
