India today asked Pakistan to hand over Mumbai terror attack accused Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim, who also figures in the country's most wanted list, to it if the neighbouring country is serious about fighting terrorism.

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should seize the opportunity in the wake of terror attack on Peshawar school and take bold steps to combat terrorism.

"If Pakistan is serious in fighting terrorism, it should arrest Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim and hand them over to India... I hope Nawaz Sharif will seize this opportunity to take bold steps against terrorism," he told reporters outside Parliament.

Saeed is the "chief promoter" of terrorism in the world, Naidu said, calling him "an enemy of humanity".

It's about stating your position which he has done. If you have been watching Pakistan television over the last few days, you would have seen a pattern emerging. Some serious & some not so serious anchors have been suggesting that they are privy to some information which suggests that RAW would do an operation within India to blame Pakistan. The timing becomes important when you see a series of warnings from the CIA and then further warnings from the IB of a very real threat of an LeT attack. There is a ground being prepared within Pakistan to say we told you so, it's scary to see senior journalists begin to slip into a job of creating plausible deniability for terrorists. Would Pakistanis so easily suggest that the ISI was involved in staging a "false flag" atrocity within Pakistan? I think not. They are fooling no one but themselves but the crazy thing is that they seem to be okay with that.


Further, contrary to what so many have been suggesting, there is unlikely to be any rethink within Pakistan about good & bad terrorists because this incident in Peshawar does not change anything in their view. The TTP were always the "bad" terrorists, it's not like someone they thought of as "good" did it. When many here think that there will be change in heart, cold calculation suggests that there won't be.
