Pakistan should curb terrorism on borders: Iranian Defence Minister
INP
Moscow: Iran Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan discussed major regional and international developments and bilateral ties, with his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Asif on the sidelines of International Security Conference in Moscow today.
Referring to numerous commonalities between Iran and Pakistan, Dehqan underlined expansion of ties and cooperation in defense sector, in line with promoting stable peace in the region.
Expressing a harsh protest against Pakistani government's inactive position regarding terrorist measures along its joint borderline with Iran, he called for immediate and all-out moves by Pakistan government and armed forces to counter with terrorist groups.
Dehqan hailed Pakistani parliament's decision not to involve the country in aggression on Yemen, describing it as a significant measure to put an end to Saudi Arabia attack on the country.
Asif, for his part, maintained that boosting border security along joint borders is very important. He further said, “We will use all in power to safeguard sustainable security and eliminate terrorist groups.”
Lauding Iran's role in establishing stability in the region, he stressed the need for strengthening defense ties with Iran. Both the Ministers are in Russia to take part in the Fourth International Security Conference in Moscow.
