Pakistan Sets Eyes on China’s New J-35 Fighter Jet

Azm will be our own project. J 31 will come also. For love of GOD Pakistan producing one stealth fighter jet on its own doesn't mean that is the only stealth jet Pakistan will have in future. Pakistan will in future at least have three stealth fighters as part of its Air Force not one. We never have and never will stick to only one type of Fighter Jet.

Honestly, I would be glad you are correct, but please name me any country - besides the USA - that can afford and maintain a fleet of three different stealth types?

As such I'm not sure if your claim is a bit overambitious.

China currently has J-20 in service. The future is J-31, J-35, J-10D.

J-35 is J-31. J-31 doesn't exist. FC-31 prototypes will be used as starting basis for development of J-35 which is been decided years ago only revealed recently. J-35 will look similar to FC-31 V3. It is 99% sure for navy carrier.

Honestly about export it is difficult. Export is always a sensitive thing for high performance equipment. For example China really would like to export J-10 to Iran especially more modern advanced version but such export will give China fresh complaints and trouble from Israel and Saudi Arabia. So maybe the three discuss things and decide okay China can sell Iran old J-10A but old J-10A is no longer made and J-10C will make SA and Israel quite unhappy just like if USA sells Taiwan F-35 or even F-21.

If we well Pakistan J-35 even if air force models developed and can be sold, fresh troubles will start from India. But now things between China and India is almost as bad as 1960 to 1972, then maybe no issue. Except that J-35 is years from ready it seems.

Sir in future all 4.5th Generation Jets will retire I am talking about than. I mean it's two decades away thing

Ok ... I thought you were assuming within the next decade.
Sorry, my foult.

.

J-31 is similar to F-35, but has two engines
J-35 is similar to F-35, has 1 engine (WS-15)
J-10D is a miniature version of J-20, with 1 engine (ws-15)

The alternative is that AVIC branches the FC-31 into two: J-35 and FC-31E. AVIC takes the latter to Pakistan and develops a "less capable, export only" fighter

Well Pakistan's version if purchased will be different but not always certainly less capable. We sell more capable weapons often for example VT-4 is much more capable than Type 96 and even Type 99A has some areas where VT-4 is better. Same with many cannons. JF-31 or whatever name will just have equipment for PLAAF custom made removed and replaced hopefully with ones just for Pakistan. I don't believe Pakistan will purchase it if it is less capable or doesn't meet standard of PAF expectations. Pak rejected Chinese weapons in past and also Chinese equipment lost to other foreign ones. This shows Pakistan isn't fool and blind to always buy Chinese just in name. It does right thing to buy what it expects and is proven good enough for the cost. So I don't think what you suggest AVIC will do is going to become. If export is possible, it is politically allowed and India to China is now less than important as before and certainly not Saudi Arabia or Israel. We have to balance Sunni and Shia relations with both. Not showing any position because any argument on those religious questions isn't for us to side. But selling this to Pakistan is not quite the same. If possible, of course CCP and AVIC will love to do it.

No way I think we will see J-35 with one engine! Only J-10C now has confidence in WS-10A and newer build WS-10 after 11 years flying with J-11B CAC trust WS-10A enough. WS-15 isn't come out and will trust after 10 years reliable and proven service and engineers understanding it better and better to improve it to A/B... models and also to teach technician and maintenance patterns. Impossible J-35 has one engine. We have not reached USA level of engine technology even if we can produce nearly same level of high thrust. This will take another 10 years at least even just for proving it, it is minimum.

The same is true for MLRS.
The PLA uses PHL-16 (with range: 220km), lower than export MLRS systems: SY-400 and A-300

PLA uses many older versions and when newer version developed, often are sold first. If buyer trials are good and help buy a lot for economy prices, then PLA may buy after. PLZ-45 is good example and then PLA received better version from PLZ-45 development. But this is all for low technology weapons like army use stuff up to MBT advancements and UAV. But best UAVs still China keeps away from export. Just some basic CH and WL UAVs is fine and some VT-4 MBT. These are advanced but not like GJ-11 or J-20 or DF-21.

So J-35 to Pakistan will be strange because first time advanced technology weapon like fighter being exported is also China's best ability to build. In past only less important and less advanced technology is allowed like SPH or MBT. But if this is allowed, the problem isn't just the strange new pattern and behavior but also the politics in allowing this. Shows how much more importance China place on Pakistan for future. So we will see if J-35 or whatever FC-31 becomes called will be sold to Pakistan or developed with Pakistan as joint venture.

To be frank Pakistan initially rejected FC31 same as PLAAF. One thing you are not considering is that Pakistani pilots have first hand experience on western jets. Our pilots in middle east have been flying many jets which are not available in Pakistan. So PAF knows thing or two when it comes to wesyern fighter jets. On other hand China have limited experience on western jets. China might got the know how to make jets to counter west but when its time to test their performance in comparison to western jets, there PAF is step ahead from China. J35 will be a revised version of fc31 from input from Pakistan as well. Initially PAF and PLAAF will use it but in future PLAN will use its modified version to replace j15 for smaller aircraft carriers. But for upcoming aircraft carriers China will next launch a modified version of J20.
About Pakistan getting less equipped version will never work. Pakistan already rejected it once. So both PLAAF and PAF will use same version. China will always keep a gap between j20 and j35 same what USA did with F22 and F35. J35 will be enough to counter countries like India but it will never be enough to counter f35 in coming future, for that purpose China got j20.

....

Once again ... there won't be a navalised J-20 for "larger carriers"! As it seems the PLAN made their decision ...

For that we have to wait till the end of 2021. Next year both companies will launch prototypes as the company which makes j20 have clearly said we have something new coming next year , while talking about j20 they hinted about new different version of it.

F14 and F15 are the ones which Pakistani pilots havent flown in 80, 90s
