Asking the Americans for help to end cross border attacks is like inviting a thief to your home. Pakistani leadership has to be the most naive ever. Very incompetent and unhinged.
Don't pretend like you don't know that cross border attacks are happening under US watch in Afghanistan.
from months Afghanistan is experiencing horrible Attacks by ISIS which has nothing to do with Pakistan and i think its more than enough to understand that who is real enemy of Afghans, NDS and RAW nexus to build up TTP and JuA will bite them back in face of ISIS if and i am pretty they will eventually join hands with ISIS ..If Americans are smart enough to not let their Soldiers be back to US in body bags, they will crush the ISIS even before it take hold ground .. and break this TTP/ISIS/JuA/NDS/RAW nexus .
Let's not kid ourselves here. The Americans aren't crazy. They are profiting one or the other way from the war in Afghanistan. From the massive opium production to keeping an eye on Pakistan. They have various goals and objectives to remain in Afghanistan and essentially the region. The Americans have spent billions of dollars for these causes. They have put many lives on the line. It is not because they want to spread democracy and defeat the Taliban. These goals could have been achieved long ago in Afghanistan. Everyone understands the real reasons.
It is too bad the Americans have failed in achieving some of their main objectives thus far. The Americans have made no secret of their desire to denuclearize Pakistan. High ranking American generals and officials have been on the record handing out frequent deadlines regarding Pakistan's existence. That is not a coincidence. These predictions fall in line with their stated objectives.
The Americans came in with a plan to balkanize Pakistan along ethnic/provincial lines. You could call it Iraq 2.0 The plan has failed. The Americans have realized that Pakistan is too resilient to be broken and divided. Why do you think the Americans and their counterparts constantly blame and scapegoat the Pakistan army? This is the only obstacle standing in their way. It is a strong and well-organized institute that holds Pakistan together. If it was up to our civilian leaders Pakistan would be nonexistent today. This is the bitter truth.
The Americans will keep trying though because they have unleashed India to sow terror across the border. India has been given a free pass. Are we really naive to think that the Americans are unaware of Indian activity in Afghanistan? Not a leaf moves without US knowledge and approval. Let's face it. It is happening with full knowledge, consent and approval. It is happening right under their noses. The Americans have a lot at stake by breaking the Pakistan China economic and military nexus. The Americans have every stake at disintegrating Baluchistan.
We need to stop fooling ourselves. America won't help Pakistan in any way. Pakistan is considered an undeclared enemy. The American think tanks have long ago decided to change their stance vis a vis Pakistan. The Americans will harm Pakistan's interests without batting an eyelid. Pakistan is also considered a close ally of China which the Americans vehemently disapprove. Pakistan is seen as a spoiler obstructing American interests in the region by cooperating and empowering China. The Americans would rather envisage a subservient Pakistan under Indian control. It just hasn't happened for them, but that is a different debate.
In short, which ever way you look at our relation with the Americans it is utterly catastrophic. It is better to remain neutral. Pakistan cannot afford enmity and hostility with the US. It also cannot afford a one sided friendship which harms our interests.
Let America deal with Afghanistan. Nothing good will ever happen in opiumland. It is destined to fail miserably. The war in Afghanistan has surpassed more than a decade. Opiumland is today in a far worse shape than ever before. Afghan forces are a joke and cannot fight Taliban/ISIS. Afghans are mass defecting to Taliban/ISIS. Pakistan should seal the border and repatriate as many Afghans as possible. That is our best bet. Anything else is wishful thinking.
