Featured Pakistan sanctions Afghan Taliban to avoid FATF blacklisting

very stupid decision, america himself making relations with taliban via peace talks and meetings in qatar and we are sanctioning them, moving away from afg taliban will prove to be the biggest mistake pakistan will ever do,
history prooves such decisions have only brought us destruction and nothing else.
just go back in history and check post 1999 there were no insurgency in FATA or baluchistan why? because we kept our enemy engage in kashmir but thanks to pervez musharraf who let india build a fence for the sake of peace and stopped the jihadi groups from operating in kashmir and it directly or indirectly cost us 70,000 as a result of indian sponsored terrorism in pakistan moreover they created so many armed groups in baluchistan, if musharraf had kept india busy in kashmir this wouldnt happen, and now they are making a same mistake of abandoning afg taliban results would be disastrous,
since india is not honouring the cease fire at LOC i think next time pakistan should bomb and destroy the fence and send a msg to india that we no longer agree on making a fence this would be enough to make then busy in kashmir and thats the only solution to contain the indians.

Some of the Indians commenting on this thread about 'China telling Pakistan to put its house in order' blah blah blah should really leave complex geo-politics to the adults.

Not your fault I suppose - you are the product of the environment you grow up in and the majority of Indian analysis about Pakistan and Pakistani policies is so childish and simplistic, revolving primarily around finding some way to make Pakistan look weak, incompetent and just plain bad, that it is no wonder we see the kinds of comments from Indians that we do.

Pakistan passed sanctions and ...

"A Taliban political team arrived in Pakistan on Monday as efforts appear to be ramping up to get negotiations underway between the Afghan government and the insurgents.

The start of the intra-Afghan talks, envisaged under a U.S.-Taliban peace agreement signed in February, was hampered by a series of delays that have frustrated Washington. Some had expected the negotiations to begin earlier this month.

The Taliban delegation, led by their political chief Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, will discuss with Pakistan’s leaders the “recent developments in Afghanistan’s peace process,” as well as “relaxation and facilitation of people’s movement and trade between the two neighboring countries,” tweeted Suhail Shaheen, the spokesman for the Taliban political office."

THE news that the Taliban delegation visiting Islamabad has had productive discussions with the Pakistani side led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has raised expectations of an early start to the intra-Afghan dialogue.

In fact, speaking to the media after the talks, Mr Qureshi said he was hopeful that the intra-Afghan talks would start soon and expressed optimism for progress in the near future despite problems and the presence of spoilers. He was assisted in the talks by DG ISI Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed while the Afghan Taliban were led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, director of the Taliban’s Doha-based political office.

Isn't America in negotiations and dealings with Afghan Taliban??... Shouldn't they be on the FATF list?

FATF is related to finance which we scarcely have so it can be effective against us but not India. which is enjoying cozy relations with America and the larger economy. India being an American strategic alley, America tends to support Indian demands and stance against Pakistan, India, in spite of being fanatic and terrorist Hindu country gets favours from the countries around the world due to economic benefits they may avail not voicing against its misdeeds. secondly, Indian crimes are against the Muslims community, of which world least bother about and has bigotry due to centuries-long religious animosity. The best option for us to get economic strength and self-reliance along with military might.
So whoever is in bed with US will be spared from the hell they can cause

It’s a total double-standard between Suited Terrorists (NATO Armies) & Clothed Terrorists (Taliban Armies)?

Just because you wear ultra tactical gear doesn’t make you morally superior.

Keep your noses out of our countries, America.

I am sure that it would have been done after proper consultation and taking them into confidence otherwise, US itself has been signing peace deal with someone that has to be on ban list for FATF or FATF itself misses US cooperation in this regard. Seems like it is all about to follow papers and that's it.
could not be more right on this.

Pakistan should find a way to put India On FATF, America is manipulated such forums to put more pressure on Pakistan, our allies failed to keep Pakistan out of this mess. We better find more reliable friends or get strong enough to counter such filthy American Indian moves.

You need visionary leaders for that. Not status quo pussies.
