Afghanistan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Monday that no state can play more role than Pakistan in the Afghan peace process.

Speaking to Pakistani journalists in Kabul, he said that Afghanistan does not want to destabilise Pakistan – neither it has potential to do it, further adding that whoever harms Pakistan would harm Afghanistan.

“We consider Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan a terrorist organisation – whoever harms Pakistan, harms Afghanistan.”

Abdullah said that he has not issued any directives against Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Pakistani and Afghan authorities mooted over the control of areas — Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir — affected during firing and shelling by Afghan forces on Friday, as yet another flag meeting between the officials of the two countries ended in a stalemate.

During the second meeting after the firing incident at the border, Afghan authorities were of the view that Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir fell under their jurisdiction, sources said. But Pakistani authorities said the areas were situated within the Pakistani territory which could be verified from Google maps.

Earlier, neither Frontier Corps nor Afghan forces were present in the villages situated near the border. However, electricity and infrastructural facilities present in the areas belonged to Pakistan, according to sources.

At least 11 people were martyred and 46 injured early Friday when Afghan border forces opened fire on Frontier Corps Balochistan soldiers deployed for security of census team near the Chaman border.

Bab-e-Dosti remains closed

The Bab-e-Dosti gate situated on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Chaman remained closed on the third day following the firing incident.

Pakistan Army and FC personnel were deployed at the border to monitor the situation and also stop people from crossing the border. Even trucks carrying goods are not being allowed to cross the border.

The Pakistan military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, had stated the Afghan Border Police have been creating hurdles since April 30 in the census process in the divided villages of Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir in Chaman, on the Pakistani side of the border.

"This was done despite the fact that Afghan authorities had been informed well in advance and coordination was carried out through diplomatic and military channels for the census process," the ISPR statement read.

Chaman shares a border with the Afghan province of Kandahar and is home to a busy international border crossing between the two countries.

KABUL: Days after the ‘unprovoked’ firing by Afghan security forces killed around a dozen Pakistanis in the border town of Chaman, Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Dr Abdullah Abdullah said his country has neither the capacity nor the intention to destabilise Pakistan.

“Anyone inflicting harm to Pakistan will be inflicting harm to Afghanistan,” Dr Abdullah said on Monday while speaking to a delegation of Pakistani journalists.

The chief executive denied that he ever issued any instructions that might go against interests of Pakistan. “No one can play a better role than Pakistan for reconciliation process in Afghanistan,” he added.

He said Operation Zarb-e-Azb was a commendable initiative. However, he expressed dissatisfaction over the state of mutual relations of the two neighbouring countries.

Dr Abdullah said Afghanistan considered the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) a terrorist organisation and was aware of its presence in the war-torn country.

“Taliban are our enemies. We have no sympathy for them. We also do not extend any cooperation to them. They should be pressured to come to the negotiating table rather than giving any concessions,” he said.

Afghan president Ashraf Ghani turns down invitation to visit Pakistan

However, he said, Afghanistan was facing bigger issues than the TTP. “Security in the country is a bigger challenge in Afghanistan,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Afghan president Hamid Karzai said he was ready to play a role to create understanding between the two countries which, he said, are like twin brothers.

“The two countries are the closest nations of the world and twin brothers. Afghan people want good relations with Pakistan. I have a lot of love for Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta,” he said, adding that he would visit Pakistan after Ramazan.

Karzai said Afghanistan could not improve relations with India at the cost of Pakistan. “No one, including India, is allowed to use Afghan land against any other country,” he said.

He said his country will always remain thankful to Pakistan for hosting Afghan refugees.

The former presidency said Middle Eastern terror outfit Islamic State, also known by its Arabic acronym Da’ish, was increasing its foothold in Afghanistan and was a common threat for both the countries.

He alleged that the US was helping Da’ish and said the two countries needed to improve their relations without blaming each other.

This is standard tactic,

Abdullah will keep statements like this, while Ghani will adopt the counter stance.

They will keep the enemy ( Pakistan ) confused and running post to post like this.

What I don't understand is Pakistan's strategy here.
We should put an end to the transit trade agreement, or at least make it as difficult as possible.
Seal the f-ing border and wait.

I don't understand why we are not doing that.

Lol and they think they can destabilise Pakistan let them try they think Pakistan doesn't know what they are up too yeah because the world is stupid and blind

KABUL: Afghanistan's Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Monday that his country did not want a war with Pakistan but the presence of Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan was a reality, Geo News reported.

He said that no state could play greater role than Pakistan in the Afghan peace process. Speaking to Pakistani journalists in Kabul, he said that Afghanistan did not want to destabilise Pakistan – neither has it the potential to do it, further adding that whoever harms Pakistan would harm Afghanistan.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Afghanistan’s Chief Executive, has said that Afghanistan neither has the capacity nor the intention to destabilize Pakistan. This statement came days after the ‘unprovoked’ firing by Afghan forces in the border town of Chaman, Pakistan, resulting in dozens of casualties.

According to Mr. Abdullah, anyone who harms Pakistan is in effect harming Afghanistan and denied the allegations placed on him regarding the intrusions against Pakistan. He said, “No one can play a better role than Pakistan for the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.”

While commending the initiative of the Operation Zarb-e-Azb he showed dissatisfaction over the kind of relations the two neighboring countries have. However, he said that Afghanistan is aware of the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in its territory and considers it a terrorist organization.

Afghanistan is aware of the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in its territory and considers it a terrorist organization.

He emphasized that the Taliban are Afghanistan’s enemy and that the Afghan establishment has no sympathy for the Taliban and have no intention of cooperating with them, instead, they want to put pressure on the Taliban in order to bring them to the negotiating table. However, while acknowledging the Taliban as a problem he said that Afghanistan faces bigger issues than the TTP referring the internal security of the country.

Hamid Karzai, the former Afghan President, used the recent conflict as an opportunity to offer his expertise as a former President of Afghanistan to mediate between the two neighbors.

His statements follow increasing speculation that elements in the Afghan government are colluding with Indian intelligence agencies in an effort to destabilize regions on the Af-Pak border. Afghanistan has become increasingly decentralized, meaning the government lacks control in certain regions and certain state forces as evident by the recent actions of the Afghan Border Police.

Afghanistan cannot improve its ties with India by sacrificing Pakistan and making clear that no state, including India, is allowed to use their land against another country.

He said, “The two countries are the closest nations of the world and twin brothers. Afghan people want good relations with Pakistan. I have a lot of love for Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta,” and further said that he will visit Pakistan after the Holy month of Ramazan.
