is this Pakistan Iran gas pipeline? or we will import gas underwater from Vladivostok all the way to Pakistan?

This gas is coming from Iran but not IP pipeline. If Iranian gas is sanctioned then it is responsibility of Russians to provide gas no matter from where they do it.

USA it's self buy gas from GazProm so sanctions are not an issue here.

The pipeline is from Russian operated gas field in Iran, it was proposed by Russia sometimes back and is for Pakistan and India. Maybe MOU will be signed to conduct feasibility study not actual construction project.

This is a great opportunity for us to take concessions from Russia viz a viz their relationship with india specially in defence sector where Russia doesnt sell us anything meaningful either a/c or tanks in fear of india.

Or simply dont let them make this pipeline to india. Just a country of 220 million Pakistan 5th largest in the world is already enough for Russia of only 140 million population. They can get all the profit they want from this deal without involving india into it........Unless there is something enough fruitful for Pakistan from Russian side which equally matches the prize we r going to pay in this huge compromise

Yeh. Yeh. More fcukin rubbish. This is like when PM IK went to KSA everybody was masturbating about supposed Saudi $10 billion grant to Pakistan. That of course was lot of hot air. When talking of big figures KSA only likes handing them to USA. Not Pakistan. And so it was. PM IK came back with some post dated promises.

And now out of the blue the Russkes have decided to bless us with $10 billon investment. Crock of shite. More hot air.

Perhaps the problem is that we are always looking for others to give us 'free' money.

Let's be realistic, Russia have huge stakes in India while it's relationships with Pakistan are at initial stages, so We aren't in any position to force Russia over India. At the moment we need to build our economic relations and confidence, military relationships are already being improve based on geopolitical realities, and will continue so without any need for us to use economic opportunity as bargaining chip

Pakistan is involve in this because this pipeline will be made from Russian's money so Pakistan has to do nothing in it no investment. All investment from Russian part. Their main focus is India but Pakistan will get LNG without spending any money and will get money from it passing through our country it will strengthen our relationship with Russia as their pipeline will be through our country to India which is their main target and they will/can get bonus from our people.
