From my personal observation (Indian members please don't lynch me!!) , I always try to figure out why India places pressure on Pakistan to maintain the majority of PDF troops on the border. Everytime the USA insists that Pakistan sends more troops to the northern border, India does something (like releasing an intelligence report on how there now exists gaps in the PDF formation at the borders to Indian military advantage) to make Pakistan wonder whether they should not rush their troops back to the eastern border

Good observation, but this is in regard to the upcoming visit (next week?) of India's Foreign Secretary to Pakistan for talks. Pressure tactics I guess.

Has nothing to do with US's demand asking for more. IIRC PA routinely rotates troops form its operations in northwest and eastern border.

That's what Military Intelligence does in every country.. they keep an eye on their adversaries and submit their reports accordingly...

there is no need for Pakistan to keep its troops at the border. if an incursion comes from the indian side, dozens upon dozens of shaheen 2 will be entering india.
