Pakistan reminds me of another great strategic state

A country which doesn't have a strong army ends up with other countries army in their homeland. Pakistan got to have a strong army.

And with a neighbor like India...it is doubly needful.

Take the example of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt...the difference between these war torn countries and Pakistan is that Pakistan has a very strong army with backing from the people.

Even thousands of articles demonizing Pak army and trying to pitch people against the Pak army will fail...been going on for the last many decades.

Exactly! And that was true about Prussia too. They had to have a strong army else they would have been gobbled by their neighbours- Russia, France, Austria, Sweden to name a few. Another thing the two states had in common.

The usual indian obsession with Pakistan lolz. It also shows most indians have no idea about Pakistan. Dont u have ur own existence to worry abt? Failing economy, failing social fabric, extremism, hatred, border skirmishes, increase in enemies and a huge pandemic. Yet the indians are worried abt Pakistan.
The only significant place where they differed is that Prussia for all its faults did take good care of its citizens providing universal education when it was unheard of as well as other ways. Mainly of course for creating citizens who could be good soldiers. Whereas Pakistan has failed till now. Hopefully, IK will do to Pak what FW-I and Frederick the Great do to Prussia.

Pakistan has failed? How? Are we not good soldiers? Ask ur army n they ll tell u. The only thing keeping Pakistan back has been relentless efforts of india and others to sabotage everything in Pakistan. Ive lived in UK and i can tell u its easier and cheaper to get medical care in Pakistan. Its way cheaper than in US. Recently a canadian was astonished to see the medical service in Pakistan, he said its quicker and better than in canada. Our road infrastructure is better than india and many others. Just in past few decades, we fought a hugely financed insurgency and beat them, we fought a huge earthquake, we fought multiple huge floods. We with our limited resources managed to kick india out of Afghanistan and iran is in process. We have changed the world narrative about india. And not to forget we gave india a bloody nose and a hard punch right in the face, to which the mighty india couldn't retaliate.
We have immense stakes in ME and beyond, our influence goes till central asia, ME and Turkey. If we developed economically, we ll be towering indians and we will be a global power.

Pakistan has failed?

Of course not. I meant purely in terms of comparison with Germany.

We have immense stakes in ME and beyond, our influence goes till central asia, ME and Turkey.

Much like Prussia as well, whose stakes went beyond its immediate neigbourhood.

If we developed economically, we ll be towering indians and we will be a global power.

Of course, that is the crux of my argument as well.

Your comparison is not historically correct, there may be some similarities. Pakistan as a nation believe that requires
the strong military to confront the mammoth wilful enemy in the shape of Supa Powa India, Besides Military It has all the ingredient of a great nation, having rich historic past and vibrant future. Pakistan is here to stay Strong in every sphere of life. Our enemies have forgotten that more they create hurdles in the way of prosperous Pakistan, stronger the Pakistan will be. We know very well how to foil conspiracies of India and its accomplice in crime.
Pakistan will stand firm to defeat Indian hegemonic design in the area.
Oh yeah about Indian immense stakes in ME and beyond, our influence goes till central Asia, ME and Turkey,
Pakistan is there to put your stakes at stake.
these stakes will remain at stake we will ensure that.
You have every right to dream about towering Indians, and being SupaPowa, But better give them toilets before
alcoholic hallucinosis vanish. there is no restriction on daydreaming and dubious designs.

This is actually a good and insightful comparison. Both states have (had) immense potential. Let's see if Pakistan can do better than Prussia.

OP has also correctly identified that IK is a monumental change in Pak leadership and has the potential to be a great leader that changes the destiny of the nation. Again, let's see how it pans out.

@Xone

Xone bhai,

I am afraid we are talking at cross purposes. This article is meant to praise Pakistan, not India.

You have every right to dream about towering Indians, and being SupaPowa,

I have no such dreams; and even if I had, this piece is not about India's dreams but about Pakistan's potential. This is about Pakistan being a towering state like Bismarck's Prussianised Germany.

@SoulSpokesman the major differences I see are:

1. Size. Pakistan is bigger, is far more populous. You could combine Germany and France and still have room to spare.

2. Prussia never had any real friends. While Pakistan has the backing of the second most powerful country on Earth, and is the latter's natural ally.

Perhaps Prussia should have remained Prussia and not become Germany. Perhaps in the long-term Prussia had a far better chance of being friends with Russia than Germany did. Had WWII been fought by Prussia and Russia had remained neutral (or even supported Germany), there was likely going to be no decisive conclusion for WWII.

@Armchair

Size. Pakistan is bigger, is far more populous.

Absolutely. If it can modernise itself, it will be a behemoth.

While Pakistan has the backing of the second most powerful country on Earth, and is the latter's natural ally.

True. But there are no permanent friends, or enemies, only permanent interests. Even the taller than mountain, sweeter than honey, deeper than ocean friend abandoned it in 1971.

Perhaps Prussia should have remained Prussia and not become Germany.

No, it was Prussia's destiny to be Germany. Else Austria would have cut it down to size and eliminated it as a serious power.

Pakistan will rise and shine inshaAllah. I have not a fraction of doubt about it. But those given the chance and have betrayed this county will rot in hell. I am including all politicians, generals, judges and bureaucrats in this line.

Pakistani untouched potential is just a shovel stroke away from unearthing! Allah Kareem will send that prized leader again just like he sent Quaid e Azam once.

No, it was Prussia's destiny to be Germany. Else Austria would have cut it down to size and eliminated it as a serious power.

Prussia may have survived better against Russia in the long-term. The Austro-Hungarians, once the superpower of Europe, were bound to wane. Just as India today is bound to wane.
