Since 30 years they have been in war, they have been invaded by USSR and then US. Their previous USSR puppet govt was anti Pakistan because we supported mujahideen. Pakistan releases Rs.1.5bn in grants for Afghan university students

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan said on Thursday the government had released Rs1.551 billion to the Higher Education Commission for Afghan students studying on scholarships in Pakistan.

Last year the HEC announced it would award around 3,000 scholarships to Afghan students under a four-year program. Around 1,000 Afghan students were also awarded grants last year as part of the HEC’s Allama Iqbal Scholarship Programme. Similar programs have been launched several times in previous years whereby selected students from Afghanistan have been able to attend universities across Pakistan.

“Government has released Rs.1.551 billion to HEC to meet expenses of Afghan students who are studying under Pakistan’s scholarship program,” PM’s special envoy to Kabul, Mohammad Sadiq, wrote on Twitter. “This important program for Afghan youth was starving for resources over last several months due to paucity of funds.”

About three million Afghans live in Pakistan, with more in neighboring Iran, many of them struggling to get full access to education, health and employment.

We don't need to bend over to hateful Afghans to reach our goals in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a hostile country. Our allies in Afghanistan are our only concern. Afghan people are generally speaking anti-Pakistan. It is a fact that most ordinary Afghans hold enmity and unfavorable views about Pakistan. Again, this comes down to territorial dispute.

Handing out scholarships won't change anything. What do you exactly mean with sowing hate? Don't accuse Pakistan of sowing hate when Afghans themselves are obsessed with hatred towards Pakistan. Afghans hold India dearer and you know this too. We have hosted millions of Afghans for decades. Yet Afghans continue to view our nation with suspicion.

Hazoor, Afghans are a diverse nation with multitude of views. We cannot paint them all that way. They are our brothers, by race and blood, we share a deep cultural comminality with them

I envision a future merger of Afghanistan and Pakistan, when the time is right. We can continue our talks in that vein from 1999.

What desired effect? Modi is as strong as ever and has a huge hindutva base, u been appeasing india in the 2000s. This is what PTM tells pashtuns, see they love hindus more than u, they have alot of money for kartarpur but none for poor pashtuns. As u said scholarships are a drop in ocean so why not then??? It helps elevate our universities, they will then come and pay to study.
