Pakistan refuses to accept deportee from France

To all, whenever any illegal immigrant is caught in developed countries, First they ask the interpreter to ascertain his nationality and then only they send request to the native country for verification and deportation. My cousin was deported from USA as our govt acknowledged about him being Indian citizen. I tried my best to stop police verification but our govt is too sincere in foreign affairs.

Seriously, Should Pakistan even care if France is willing to sever ties with Pakistan over one person, whose actual citizenship is yet to be proven? It appears that France is looking for excuses to please some particular country. Commendable response from Pakistani side, France is no USA, USA usually get its way with Pakistan because it knows how to please the officials in Pakistan.

They do, they do. They chase us around, set their dogs on us, throw garbage at us, call us Pakistanis. No end to the nasty things they do.

Drat! Another business opportunity lost to the all-weather friends!!
Scientificaly it is proven that the French are brain damaged Italians

.
Why deport? Don't they have criminal law, courts and jails. Deal with the criminal where he committed the crime.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and France found themselves on the verge of a diplomatic spat on Thursday after the former refused to accept a deportee till his credentials are verified and other legal documentary requirements are completed.

France wants to deport Muhammad Mansha to Pakistan for criminal activity, vaguely defined as “severe moral crimes”. However, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Thursday reacted strongly to France’s harsh stance over the deportation.

France’s interior department this week summoned the Pakistani envoy and asked him to prepare Mansha’s travel documents within hours. Failure to do so, French officials warned, could affect diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The deportee problem

Pakistan’s ambassador in Paris contacted the interior ministry in Islamabad and narrated the proceedings. When the matter was raised with Nisar, he reacted strongly.

The minister insisted on Thursday that Pakistan would only accept deportees as per its laws and no unverified individual would be issued a Pakistani passport.

Terming France’s stance on the deportation as ‘unsuitable’ and ‘contrary to diplomatic norms’, Nisar said that Pakistan will work according to its own rules and regulations and it will not give in to threats.

He added that France needs to submit Mansha’s particulars to Islamabad for verification of his nationality. Once it is confirmed that Mansha is a Pakistani national, only then can his deportation process go ahead.

Over a quarter of a million Pakistani workers deported since 2013

He warned that if Paris forces through Mansha’s deportation without following the procedure then he would be sent back via the same flight while the airline carrying him can also be fined.

Mansha has been living in France for a number of years and is facing charges of ‘severe moral crimes’.

Living for several years in France doesn't mean you will become a french citizen.
You can live since 20 years in France and still be an illegal immigrant.

That still does not make him a Pakistani unless proper documents are produced showing that he is. Your claim is simply not enough.

.
"severe moral crimes"; I thought France was "post-moral" nowadays.

.
Pakistan is not a French colony, nor is France an imperial power. It was stupid to threaten Pakistan.

Let's see what France does, will it go ahead with its threats? Or will it do the smart thing and go through the legal channels.

.
Europe needs to heavily restrict the entry of people from countries that won't accept deportees. It seems some countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East are behaving like Fidel Castro, who bragged before the Mariel boatlift "I will flush the toilets of Cuba"

Why would Pakistan accept deporties if they are not pakistanis?

How about pakistan deporting afghans and Bengalis to Britain calling them British? Will you accept them then?

P.S who gives a fk about a tiny nation of France. Their imperialism is done now they are just as important country as Somalia or Ethiopia, nothing more.

It obviously matters to you or else you wouldn't visit or move there in such large numbers. Not many French queuing up to get VISAs to go to Pakistan.

you are missing the point. If France cuts of ties, Pakistani business people lose an avenue of Schengen.

If all that has been reported here is true I am doubly surprised. France is not immature to demand blind acceptance by Pakistan; neither is Pakistan dumb enough to jeopardize diplomatic relations for one criminal.

There are about 50,000 Pakistanis in France; a significant number of those are Brits of Pakistani origin. Hardly queuing up. Our emigrants tend to go to the Anglosphere or the Gulf states.
