Pakistan Receives C602 Anti-ship Missiles

Hezbollah shot C-602 or C-802..but definitely one of two.

Look it up.
Not a very capable missile, an Israeli ship INS Hanit (small corvette 1300 Tons) was hit by it when Hisbulla fired one in 2006 and survived to be repaired, an anti ship missile should effectively sink.

you must expect some different in destruction capabilities of a missile with a missile with 29kg warhead (c-701) that Hezbollah fired and a missile with 150 or 300 kg of warhead (c-802 or c-602 ).

You invest in subs they'll invest in P8Is, you invest in anti-aircraft, they'll go for, hmmmm :undecided:... i'm not really good with navy.

Everything is a tit for tat. There's always escalation, basic International Relations National Security Dilemma. The hard part is finding an equilibrium where the establishments feel they have a pretty good deterrent.

Escalation is easy, its the de-escalation that's hard. Do you want an example required?

p-8i while good can only do so much against an ultra quite AIP diesel sub and actual use of the weapon is the last resort, having just enough to deter the need to use is the first desired function as have been demonstrated in the past 2 crisis.

@JEskandari, Yes I mixed up between C-701 and C-704, a C-802 would pulverise a corvette the theory given was that its warhead did not go off. But C-701 makes more sense.

They have better ones today right? And do you believe Hamas has any C-series anything?

The question is not just missile but also targeting, while a guerella force may optically target a 20 odd Km ranged missile, they may not be able to do it over a range of over a 100km.

They get training from Iran though and some people say Iranian revolutionary guard members actually operate them during war.

It's not about training you need radars and over the horizon targeting, any such equipment is hard to hide compared a small optically guided missile that fits on the back of a pickup truck along with it's targeting system.

They might have them in Lebanon certainly not in Gaza though. Although Gaza has an underground city Hamas uses to store weapons and communication systems.

Pakistan has defensive stance, so buying missiles for coastal defence is good. We need air defence also for coast!
