Pakistan Rangers seize US military equipment

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers have seized sensitive military equipment belonging to the US and Nato on security grounds, Express News reported on Friday.

According to the Ranger officials, the equipment will remain under their control until further orders are received from the government.

The rangers, for the purpose of storing the military supplies, have rented a yard namely Mega6 at the Port Qasim.

So far, 250 containers have been offloaded at the Mega6 yard.

It was reported earlier that the US has decided to export all its cargo, including military hardware and arms, out of Pakistan.

Sources told Express News that the break in supplies has frustrated US authorities to the point where they are now weighing various options to move around the cargo stranded at various locations in Pakistan.

According to sources, US cargo, stranded in Pakistan, is worth millions of dollars and US authorities have serious concerns over the safety of the cargo as it includes hammer vehicles, dumpers, anti-aircraft guns, special carriers of anti-aircraft guns, vehicles specially built to jam communications, cranes and sophisticated weapons.

good news no doubt . Also we have to be a bit cautious because this is not the Indian's that we are dealing here with, it's the U.S military so we have to be extra careful as to not giving them any pretext for their typical mind games since it involves weapons stored which are not in the permitted list indicating that it can be sensitive equipment's which the U.S/NATO might had stored for some sinister proxy game the possibility of which cannot be rule out .

whenever in doubt it would be prudent not to believe anything Americans say

I think in 2 weeks if the payment for storage is not recieved these should be auctioned off , by Army to military purpose , and only invited client is Pakistan Army ,

just 1-2 days back the Americans were saying that they gonna ship the containers outta PAK ASAP..

Seriously !!

Hammer vehicles.

dumpers, anti-aircraft guns, special carriers of anti-aircraft guns, vehicles specially built to jam communications, cranes and sophisticated weapons.
What purpose were these high tech weaponary going to serve in Afghanistan? Who were they thinking of using these against? Paper planes of the Talibs?

These are serious quesitons taht the public must demand from our Military and political elite who been allowing free n unchecked transit.

It seems the equipment was not on the permitted items list.

Perhaps only vehicles were allowed and no other military & electronic hardware was allowed to transport through Pakistan.

It's the first time they are caught. But according to former US ambassador to Pak, Paterson said no sensitive tech or ammunition is transported thru Pakistan.

I wonder if the ISI knew all along what had been transported? Any earlier reports/indications of sensitive equipment being transported thru Pak? Please share...
