Pakistan, Qatar agree to enhance bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Qatar high discussed bilateral cooperation and agreed to enhance collaboration in energy, economic relations, human resource and others.
During a meeting adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz highlighted the importance of setting up joint business council to Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi Assistant Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar currently on official visit to Pakistan.
Aziz also offered services of Pakistan’s skilled and unskilled labour for mega infrastructure projects being initiated by Qatar including ‘FIFA City’ for hosting FIFA 2022 World Cup.
Al-Rumaihi had detailed bilateral consultations with Ambassador Syed Tariq Fatemi special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs. Both sides emphasised the need to further explore all possible areas of cooperation. Fatemi underscored the need for cooperation in the field of energy, especially import of natural gas from Qatar, investments in projects of infrastructure development and provision of manpower from Pakistan.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In these bilateral consultations, there was detailed discussion on infrastructure development in the region for regional integration.
