What's new

Pakistan prepares to launch third Azmat-class FAC

Yup, First an example of a miniature MANPAD system:

Combined with a radar from this, also a small system:

It's easily possible. Nothing out of this world.
Than a solution already exists. The reason i pointed this out was because members were arguing over extending deck and adding a SAM system. The only drawback i see is the limited range of such systems.

Yes, but the limited range isn't really a problem if FACs are in large numbers, plus they can prove lethal against ASW-planes which maybe flying out on patrols. Or even unaware jets.
Plus if FACs are largely produced their agility and stealth characteristics make them excellent in implementing blockades and at shoot and scoot types of attacks. They can prove lethal against merchant fleets. A pocket warship I'd say.

It has more to do with range, the P-8Is aren't going to be flying over a FAC other than by chance/crew imcompetence.

The primary self-defense these FACs have is their maneuverability compared to many older and some modern AShMs.

But I think a previous member has already stated out the inability of the Chinese to miniaturize their systems for smaller spaces compared to the Finnish Hamina.

Pakistan decided to go for the Azmat, possibility for the ability to upgrade the platform later when they have greater funds.

If Pakistan is serious in having a supplemental force of FACs, a few can be stripped down to include purely long range AD role.

I have that we rename the thread to PNS Dehshat class (Fast attack Boat) !!! Little boat with big heart

This picture does some Justice to show case the size of the ship

Just 10 Meter extra length , we could perhaps fit a lovely Anti Air , rack or replace the Cannon in front with Missile Unit (SAM)

That Dingy in rear is eye sore

Ship needs that extra 10 Meter at back , to fit a nice SAM and hide that dingy boat

Ideally that Dingy should be hidden under the body , with floor covering over top which opens outwards

It definitely have space for FL-3000N Chinese Sea Ram, it will give it some decent protection.

If possible Pakistan can get upgraded version of this CIWS from Russia for ships and FACs.

. . . . .
From few angles the Ship looks small but when you really view it with comparison to side of a person standing next to it , you realize that it is not a small ship by any means 63 Meters is a pretty decent size ship, packed with some serious Anti Ship fire power

Seeing the size of crew members and then comparing it with the boat you get feeling of the true size for ship. It is a nice ship for Pakistan Navy
