Malaysia should put informal restrictions on Indian labor, and allow Pakistan's skilled and non skilled labors more access to it's markets.
Please ask Malaysia to put more restrictions on Indians

If you didn’t notice, this is just an Internet forum. Neither the members can request such preferential treatment nor are they privy to any such request that may already have been put across and may have been taken positively by Malaysian side.

"Pakistan's edible oil consumption is around 4.50 million tonnes while India consumes 24 million tonnes; the scales are too wide," Sathia said.

Read again. It says edible. Not palm. India does not purchase entire edible oil from Malaysia. India imported 4.4mt of palm oil while pakistan imported 1.1mt. Pakistan's consumption is about 3mt whereas Bangladesh is about 1.8mt. Both countries together can easily compensate. In not mentioning Turkeye who also import significant amount of palm oil.

Regardless of what Pakistan can do for Malaysia, this will be a short term problem for Malaysia. In the long run, the consumer market will rebalance itself. EU ban on palm oil is the real worry from Malaysian perspective.

Stifling trade as retaliation for an insignificant comment is not the best way to handle this problem. Malaysia has proposed to increase imports from India to balance the trade deficit. India should simply grab that and only deal with political issues diplomatically. After all, this is what the diplomats are being paid to do!

I agree with you...In general Malaysia and Indinesia public are not as anti Indian as Mahathir is..Mahathir is just playing his own politics for his own legacy...We should not dictate Indo Malay relation through prism of one man only...

It is also a fact that this situation will not last for long time..In the back drop Malaysia agreed to increase sugar and other items import from this year...And there are additional conecessions given to Indian trader throug FTA...
I beleive this trade ban should be removed that in general India Malaysia relation through trade is not so bad...

Soon enough (Inshallah) we will see a new bond on the horizon, which will include countries like Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Iran, Qatar and China. Highly likely because of China, Russia could also become part of it. Beside defense agreements trade will also be part of agenda and these countries will increase trade and other relationships with each other in order to support each other.

Beside multiple benefits, which will be fruitful for these counties, the biggest advantage will be less dependency on countries like US, Indian, KSA and UAE. This means India wouldnt be able to bully counties like Malaysia and same goes for the relationship in between Pakistan & KSA.
