Pakistan Players Won't be Allowed in Pro Kabaddi League: Indian Govt

New Delhi: The government on Monday made it clear that it will not allow Pakistani players to compete in the Pro Kabaddi League, slated for next month, unless the neighbouring country stops "sponsoring terrorism".

The fifth season of the league will begin on June 25 with a clash between Puneri Paltans and Telugu Titans in Pune.
Reports have suggested that Pakistani players could be included in the players' auction of the league.

"They (organisers) can call them but they can't make them play. Even if they are selected, it is government of India which will decide whether they are allowed or not. Unless Pakistan gets rid of terrorism, it is impossible to play with Pakistan," Sports Minister Vijay Goel said.

Pakistan's hockey players and cricketers have also not been allowed to compete on the Indian soil for some time now.The diplomatic tension between the two countries increased after a Pakistan military court awarded the death sentence to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav last month for espionage and subversive activities. Jadhav had been arrested on March 3 last year.

India challenged the judgement in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered a stay on the execution.

Guess, that's the best action they sought from UPA and the reason they kept asking for former PM's resignation. Why not just ban all trade & commercial and economic activities altogether? Pakistan is importing Food articles, Medicines and only essential goods from India. Pakistanis are coming to India for getting medical treatment. Pakistanis artists are never forced by Indians to work in India.

If Pakistan wants to ban all trade and economic activities with India then she will be a loser. The bilateral trade amounting 2-3 billion dollars will hardly affect Indians but might push prices of fruits and vegetables in Lahore.

Well charity begins at home, when you want the whole world to isolate Pakistan, first you need to breakup ties or keep them minimal at least. Imagine asking other countries to ban Pakistan and we our self playing kabbadi with them I also believe that no visas should be given either way to anybody so that aman ka tamasha can stop and even the embassies should have maximum of 10 staff with no high commissioner either side.

Would you play football with some one who murdered your family member and has no regret for the same.
As per your logic its hands who were involved in murder not legs so i can play football.
Its not about Individuals its about nation, There is a stance of India for Pak, there should be no exceptions for individuals/ music / sports.

What does banning sports players achieve, except making you look like unreliable hosts and further deteriorate relations? I ask again, what business does the sports minister have commenting on Pakistan?

India is the one trying to "punish Pakistan", its ridiculous and nonsensical that it would ban players, but continue trade. If you are really trying to punish Pakistan, then why not stop trade and raise prices in Lahore by a few rupees? Why shamefully use sports as a political platform?
