Pakistan participates in Dubai Air Show

SLAMABAD: Chief of the Air Staff Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said on Sunday that Pakistan was successfully fighting against terrorism in spite of meagre resources .
After the successful conduct of the anti terrorist operations, Pakistan was being viewed as a role model in the fight against terror, he added.
These operations had also resulted in the betterment of law and order situation in the country, he made these remarks while talking to the media persons during his visit to Pakistan Pavilion set up at the Dubai Air Show-2015.
The Air Chief attended the inaugural ceremony of the Air Show.
A large number of delegations from different countries including Air Chiefs of a number of Air Forces were also present at the occasion.
The Dubai Air Show was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of UAE.
According to PAF Spokesman here, Super Mushshak aircraft of Pakistan Air Force has been put up for static as well as aerial display in the Air Show.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Defence and Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Defence Production were also present at the occasion.
They also visited the Pakistan Pavilion, being set up by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra.
The Air Chief said that the participation of Pakistan Air Force in this Air Show is a matter of great pride for us and many countries in general and Islamic countries in particular have shown interest in the JF-17 Thunder aircraft.
The Air Chief also called on Air Vice Marshal, Ibrahim Nasser Mohammad Al Alawi, Commander UAE Air Force and Air Defence and discussed matters of professional interest.
Later on he also visited various stalls at the show and met with high ranking officials of the air forces of various countries. - SAMAA/APP

Kamra-based Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) is staying tight-lipped on the identity of the first international customer for its JF-17 Thunder fighter, but says marketing efforts for the single-engined type are going well.
“The contract is already signed, but we will leave it to the customer to announce it first,” says Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed. “There is a lot of interest in developing countries. I think almost all developing countries are keen to have a look at the JF-17.”
He says potential clients fall into three classes: ones with which there have been negotiations, a group evaluating data, and a group who have shown some interest in the Thunder.
Increased international engagement about the JF-17 has seen promotional efforts transfer from the country’s air force to PAC, where it is overseen by the organisation’s deputy director.
The JF-17 is a joint development between PAC and Chinese airframer Avic and is powered by a single Russian-made Klimov RD-93 engine.
One strength of the programme, adds Ahmed, is that Pakistan has full access to the JF-17’s source code, which gives it significant flexibility in tailoring the jet for customer requirements.
“Having the ability to do all the programming sends a very good message that whatever weapons they have, they can be integrated onto the aircraft. You don’t have to go China.”
Flightglobal broke news of the JF-17’s first contract signing at the Paris air show in June.

Jf-17 is not there this time, not for flight performance at least. Also i do not think it is even on static display this year.

The very reason China and Pakistan aren't too fussed about it since they have multi-million order under the belt.

Nothing to do with ''Daal Roti'', we managed that a few times, it's more to do with insurance for the aircraft.....any way one wonders, why do our Rafiqs and Habeebis come running to us even when a few RPGs land on their soil.
