Pakistan opposes creation of new permanent seats at UNSC

. . .
The usual. Pakistan opposes anything that would benefit India.

In the end, its literally inevitable..India will be on UNSC.
yes Pakistan has all the right to oppose such developments specially when India is involved ...

. .
If we seperate ourselves from the G4 we would have been in the UNSC a long time ago.

Not even the permanent member will vote for this non sense. All it needs is just one veto. China in will never allow India or Japan in particular to gain veto power. I for one am in favour of Japan to be there as they deserve it.
On the other hand it has been shown repeatedly that UNSC is only there to eat its own $hit while P5 is there to stomp all over it despite any resolutions adopted unanimously.

Pakistan does't need to oppose something that will never happen.

I'm sure the present members are all willing to let new folks in and break the status quo.

I too agree that 5 Permanent members are enough at the UN. But the roster of Nations holding such a membership definitely needs a rejig in the near future. IMO, France and Britain are no longer the continental, imperial, Colonial powers that they once were. They hence need to make way for other newly emerged Powers. Japan and India are the ones who can shoulder such a responsibility the best.

Delusional as hell. You have the weakest economy of the 4, you would be last in line.

typical han thinking. We are the only nuclear country of the G4, our military is the strongest, our soft power is the greatest, we have a problem with only 2 pariah states.

India's bid for permanent member of UNSC is backed by permanent members namely France,[51] Russia,[52] the United Kingdom[53] and United States,[54] although the United States initially opposed India's candidacy on grounds of nuclear proliferation, as India has acquired nuclear weapons and not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.[55] On 15 April 2011, China officially expressed its support for an increased Indian role at the United Nations, without explicitly endorsing India's Security Council ambitions.[56][57] However, recently China has expressed its support for Indian candidacy as a permanent member of the Security Council if India revoked its support for Japanese candidacy,[58] thus making India the only candidate that has received support from all permanent members and most other nations as well. Countries that explicitly and openly support India for UNSC permanent seat are – Armenia,[59] Australia,[60] Bahamas,[61] Bangladesh,[62] Belarus,[63] Belgium,[64] Belize,[65] Benin,[66] Bolivia,[67] Brunei,[68] Bulgaria,[citation needed] Cambodia,[69]Chile,[70] Croatia,[71] Cuba,[72] Cyprus,[73] Czech Republic,[74] Denmark,[75] Dominican Republic,[76] Ethiopia,[77] Finland,[78] Ghana,[79] Guyana,[80] Hungary,[81] Iceland,[82] Israel,[83] Jamaica,[84] Laos,[85] Lesotho[86] Liberia,[87]Libya (under the Gaddafi government),[79] Kazakhstan,[88] Kyrgyzstan,[89] Malawi,[90] Malaysia,[91] Maldives,[92] Micronesia,[93] Mongolia,[94] Morocco,[79] Myanmar,[95] Nigeria,[96] Norway,[97]Oman,[citation needed] Palau,[93] Peru,[98] Poland,[99] Portugal,[100] Romania,[citation needed] Rwanda,[101] Qatar,[102] Senegal,[103] Singapore,[104]Slovakia,[105] Suriname,[106] Swaziland,[107] Syria,[108][broken citation] Tajikistan,[109] Tanzania,[110] Trinidad and Tobago,[111] Tuvalu,[112] Ukraine,[113] the United Arab Emirates,[114] Uzbekistan,[115] Vietnam,[116] and Zambia.[117]

The African Union also supports India's candidacy for permanent member of UNSC.[118]

Pakistan is the only nation which specifically opposes India's candidacy.[119]

You are a nuclear state because you refused to sign the NPT, typical pariah state behavior, which forced Pakistan to develop weapons too and ended any possibility of a nuclear-free sub-continent. By your logic, North Korea should be a P5 power too. Your navy is weaker than Japan's and your army is weaker than Germany's. And as for "soft-power" - we'll let the facts speak for themselves:
