Pakistan oil find may have meaning to entire region

Pakistan media & Gov should just hold its breath stop and stop giving daily briefing for no reason.

Wait until something worthy is found than let the public creating hype for no reason will only hurt Pakistan

For some reason this Gov is trying to be extra open, while sharing things which has no point of even being in news do your job give a monthly or 2 weekly statement of whats Gov up to

This may well be all hype. We shall see.
But I don't understand why some people are so skeptical about the benefits for Pakistan if this turns out to be true? Okay, Venezuela and Libya maybe a mess. Okay, GCC countries may not remain as prosperous without oil. But Pakistan is not them. Pakistan has faced two simultaneous major threats in the 1980s in the East and West (India and USSR) and yet held its own--in fact, Pakistan's economy at least matched India's well into the 1980s from 1947 onward and even today is not that far behind.
Not to mention, during the 1960s, despite the lack of oil, Pakistan was progressing rapidly. There IS an industrial base. There IS a service sector. There IS a large educated (and English speaking) class. There ARE other natural resources.

There won't be gala festivities year around in Pakistan if major oil is discovered. There will be very considerable poverty alleviation, improvement in health and education, defense investments. But not even the most corrupt Pakistani rulers would be able to act like complete despots--Pakistan never tolerated its uniformed or non-uniformed rulers for long, unlike in many other countries (e.g. Hosni Mubarak)--and squander the gains.

So cheer up and hope for some major discoveries!
