Pakistan officially inducts HQ 9 Air Defence system

Pakistan needs to build or purchase 400km + MLRS system to neutralise the S400 ( and the counter is true for India against the HQ-9).

AWACs combined with a 450km AWACs that does sigint to detect SAM systems would be the perfect setup. Ideally Pakistan's next procurement is this MLRS type system.

. .
The question is, will we be able to fly our planes close enough to S-400s to launch ARMs? HARMs have a range of 111km and LD-10s 60km. Based on public knowledge, the S-400 can track a low flying fighter sized target at 100-150km.
SAM coverage doesn't act like a reinforced concrete walls. Obviously it can be breached, jammed and overwhelmed by saturated attacks. Terrain and crew's 24/7 proficiency also impacts its performance. As far as range is concerned it's not a threat for fighter 400 km away. That's against dumb passengers jet without any sensors in ideal environment suitable for S-400. Cruise missiles and long range artillery can also be used to neutralize SAM sites. They can be totally avoided and circumvented too.

Long range SAM is semi-mobile and one of the dumbest systems employed in the battlefield. It's like a big, huge cannon constantly firing big flares right above its location which can be sensed from 100s of KM away. It needs to be protected and well guarded in order to let it protect an important installation and their response time is usually slower than more mobile and short range systems.

"S-400 can track a low flying fighter sized target at 100-150km."

That's a wrong assumption. Long range high altitude SAMs require short/medium range SAMs to complement them and provide them security from small and low flying threats. You wouldn't see S400 as a standalone system in Russia it would always be accompanied by Tor or Pantsir or probably both along with S300.

Also unguided cheap rockets will be very good too. Imagine we launch barrages of hundreds of unguided rockets towards the direction of Indian bases. Indian radars will be overwhelmed tracking the rockets and Indian sam’s will waste all their missiles on those unguided rockets. While we shoot unguided rockets at them PAF can sneak up and destroy Indian bases and actually do some damage.

Just the psychological effect of thousands of rockets flying at Indian bases will be enough to demoralize Indian troops and people.
The rockets will be super cheap simple and unguided so we can mass produced tens of thousands of them when war starts let all those rockets fly towards their big cities and bases so Indians will have to put all their focus countering it and in the meanwhile PAF and PA can do it’s job.
Hamas type unguided simple cheap rockets but with increased range and more reliable

Please don’t believe all written in the brochures! In this age is of intense EW, the further the loser! 02-27 has shown Pak is no minnows in EW….

We generally follow the regiment and battery procedure..... Each regiment generally contains two to three batteries of firing units..... And this was the 4th HIMAD REGIMENT.
New unit or a reflagged old regiment.
LIke 19 SP was the old 19th light when it was converted to a self-propelled regiment, its ordinal number was only retained since the CO insisted.

The Patriot isn’t perfect either given it’s record against Iraqi cruise missiles. (at the same time it performed well against Ballistic missiles). However for countries already working with US tech obviously the integration benefit is present (hence Qatar and KSA). It’s especially potent in US hands because then it acts as a layered system and not a standalone one. Just as S400 does for Russia and HQ-9 does for China (and will for Pakistan). These systems aren’t made to do all of the exact same things at the end of the day, and they definitely don’t cost the same. So comparisons are honestly not entirely fair.
China has not fought a war for many years, weapons and equipment have not been put into actual combat, the PLA can only test its equipment through constant drills.

This is a training base for the PLA.

So can do your opponent. Modern militaries have the capability to saturate enemy air defense systems and in near future more so by the induction of swarm drones. And SAMs can pick and choose which threat to counter and which to ignore. A rocket flying towards corn fields might just be overlooked.

India can do the same to you?

w can a active radar seeker with 2-way datalink (HQ9) desiganed base on a TVM seeker(Patriot PAC2)?It doesn't make sense, they are two totally differnt desig
It could be the older versions A/B are TVM while newer ones B/C are active. Remember, all the benefits of TVM are rather old (no need for heavy electronics on missile and not-alerting target when its engaged), these are solved with modern electronics and AESA LPI radars.

Was comparing the HQ-9 missile to US Navy, RIM-174 and RIM-161. The RIM-174 seems to have similar specs to the HQ-9, but does anyone know whats the deal with RIM-161? It is of similar dimension to the 174 but with a 1,200 km range!

If you don't care about CEP, I recommend buying it:
WS2D rocket gun, max-range 400 km(New Delhi is less than 370km away from Pakistan.), CEP less than 600m.
Don't worry, India can not do the same thing, because China will not sell weapons to India.

The is Not as capable and reliable as other well known air defense systems in the world. But keeping in view, our economic conditions and only 1 major arms supplier, it is very acceptable addition.
Who told you we have only one Arms Supplier. We are buying weapons from several countries. Even Air Defence systems will come from various other countries also. And HQ 9 is full beast. Specially if we have bought the latest version then it's quite close to S-400. Not full matches but comes close
