So, the criminals fled from Iran into Pakistan? How is this our responsibility? How about Iran keeping control of its own borders since the culprits flee from their side? Especially if they are Iranian nationals.

Having said that, I find it worrisome that people from all sides of the border including the Afghan border are crossing at will. This has harmed Pakistan very badly. If the claims of this Iranian commander are true we have some serious work on our hands. It is unacceptable for our own sake. We cannot have Tom, Dick and Harry crossing into our land. This border issue is an Achilles' heel of Pakistan. I just don't understand why we don't take this seriously. We have turned our borders into a no man's land. We have neglected parts of our country for a long time. Just look at FATA for instance. Foreign Salafi terrorists have been roaming in these places for freakin' decades. They have destroyed the writ of the state and we just looked on as spectators. Indian sponsored terrorists, miscreants, criminals, Afghan refugees all cross at will. This is just unbelievably sad. We need to establish the writ of the state on all sides of the border. We need to use every capability to achieve this goal. We can use drones and so many other tools to monitor the difficult terrain. I get the feeling that we just haven't done enough.

Actually Pakistan has done what it can to secure the Pak Afghan border with various check posts trenches and border gates the Afghan authorities have zero control over their nation let alone control their borders.

Iranian Border Guards Commander Qassem Rezaei said on Sunday that Pakistan is not doing enough to protect the security of its common borders with Iran.
“Pakistan has failed to meet Iran’s expectations over providing security in the border areas with its neighbor,” Rezaei said, IRNA reported.

“A large number of thugs and outlaws who have committed crimes in the Islamic Republic and have managed to flee the country, now have found refuge on the Pakistani soil,” he said, adding that they continue to cause security problems in border areas.

“We do not expect an Islamic nation like Pakistan to be indifferent,” he said.

Pakistan is effectively curbing IRGC backed smuggling especially of diesel, steel, cement etc. And that is shooting pains up the spine of this commander...! As lack of smuggling improvishes their agents and the pomp of Ashura may actually begin to fall apart with less and less participants.

To those who are not familiar, Iran is notorious for smuggling across the porous border trucks and trucks worth of goods for its proxies who then sell these goods as substantial low cost - damaging local tax paying industry and revenue - to raise funds of Iranian propaganda in Pakistan...Much of their agents are local Shia groups and even large swathes of Afghan refugee..just look around and wonder where do these refugees get so much money from???
