Can you shed more light on this? I thought it was the Awami League who was trying to bring changes to the inheritance law?
Awami League has absolutely nothing to gain from this and Hasina and most of her party leaders realise this. Hasina gave assurance to the Awami Olama League leaders that anything against the sharia in the proposed legislation for women would be scrapped. Then Sajeda, one of her ministers, met the american ambassador and after the meeting declared that there would be no change. Everybody knows by now who's pulling the strings from behind the curtain. Even in India this Muslim Law is respected as far as the Indian Muslims are concerned, so we can safely say that India is not behind this. Uncle sam can afford to indulge in such misadventure because it has nothing to lose if anything goes wrong, it is Awami League and its ally India who will pay the price. In other words, Awami League and India are about to become the sacrificial lambs for fulfilling uncle sam's secret designs in Bangladesh. Remember how israel was about to stike at Pakistan's nuclear sites from India? Do you think isreal cared what would have happened to India if that strike took place?
