Pakistan needs an aircraft carrier or amphibious assault ship

In disaster relief, anti-terrorism, material delivery amphibious landing ship is more practical than the aircraft carrier. Even more important is that China is also ready to develop a vertical takeoff and landing fighter.

Pakistan doesnt need any such thing until our economy is so big that we need carriers to project power across continents, think 20 yrs down the line, all we need right now is destroyers, frigates n nuke subs...

and we certainly wont mind it. I wish pakistan goes for at least 2 or 3 AC's. It would be interesting to see what sort of naval strategy they will have with AC's.

China is there to provide Loan and china will Deliver the carrier and Pakistan will pay back with interest

Pakistan is not so dumb to buy a carrier when we have no use for them right now, buying them is not an issue for us, its maintaning them which is a bitch..

Its not just about pakistan but china as well. If china deploys AC in arabian sea to protect sea lanes then India will end up having more military embrace with US. So they can simply arm pakistan with India as an excuse and proxy fund the expenses through trade or any thing else. Its simply like contracting out with no risk to your own life.

Don't forget that there are aircraft carriers and submarines in India. Helicopter can be used for anti submarine. Than nuclear submarines are cost-effective.

At the moment, PN do not need to go for Carrier Ship.
PN needs currently;
1-Bigger Destroyer ships with multi role capabilities that can host ballistic and cruise missile, Anti ship & Anti submarine role along with better Air defence umbrella.

2-Secondly, Ant ship Ballistic missile to pose thread against enemy's Carriers

3-Dedicated Air twin engine wing such as J-11D

Such procurement might take 10 years at least, after that PN can plan for Carrier if Country's economy boosts due to CPEC.
